I'm just going to give this categories, because I don't know where to begin. *Tempus Region* Ah yes, the wondrous, the new, the emotionless, the work-in-progress region. The region that you have to challenge yourself to actually get into, the region that you have to solve some puzzles for. Well, maybe just one. I forgot how I got the second Disc Piece. I have had access to this region for about a week now, but there is no point for me to stay in it. Why? Because I chose to be a Pokémon, not a trainer. If you are not a trainer, then you see you have been punished for choosing to be a Pokémon once you explore this region. We don't even get to see the Gym Leader's Pokémon, let alone fight them. We get some grass with mediocre wild Pokémon that provide no Pokédollars beyond 350, give or take. Why do we need them to drop an actual sufficient amount of cash, you ask? You need to buy an expensive TM Rock Smash to advance through the region, and an HM Cut. When I say expensive, I mean about as expensive as your Ice Beam, your Hyper Beam, and your Solarbeam TMs. http://i.imgur.com/cne8LOU.png Now, let's talk about why I'm so apprehensive towards this new region. Before the recent pwipe, I bought both Cut and Rock Smash. The only thing I got out of all of that was Surf. I got to walk on water. Not many sights to see except for one, but I won't disclose it. No progression, nothing. After the recent update(s), I have yet to see any reason, as a Pokémon, as to why I should bother buying these terrible moves that nobody in their right mind would even use in battle. I would rather buy Ice Beam than go any further through this region that is only benefiting trainers. There is nothing present before any of the needed buys that actually motivates me to put myself through more of the region. There isn't even a mystery dungeon. Now, if there is not going to be something exciting added beforehand to this TM Lady, then I heavily propose making the Pokémon in Tempus Region actually drop reasonable amounts of money. As it stands, Haeven is a thousand times better for getting Pokedollars, even if the Tempus mobs drop slightly more. Example: I can go to the Rhydons and Perish Song them due to their spawning in a straight line. When you get access to a new region, it should be BETTER for progressing through itself, not worse. The mobs need to drop at least 2,000 Pokédollars before they are worth a damn. Nerfing the price of TM Rock Smash and HM Cut is also a viable solution. As a Pokémon who has gone through this region several times, I am not buying them in their current state, though. The only good way to make an income is to scavenge for Bloodstones so you can get a bunch of Electrizers/Magmarizers, and then sell them to Mart vendors for 150,000. When you can't do that? You have to grind Everstones from that Apple Core quest. *Effort Values* I'm already certain at this point that the broken EV system is not going to change, so I won't delve into that. However, I would like to bring up the fact that there are no end-game areas to train Speed. You get a choice of Elekids/Buizels and that Electric House with all the Pikachu knockoffs and Shinxes. The Elekids/Buizels are level 15, and the Electric House is probably that or lower. Let's be realistic here, I bet almost everyone who ends up reading this doesn't even know there is a zone with just Elekids and Buizels. Can we change them into an end-game mob for the Speed stat? Something like level 85 Crobats. Also, can we make stat boosters only work if an EV is not at 255, or just remove them from the game? Doubt it'll happen after all these years, but it can't hurt to ask. *Stat boosters* 4,000. 4,000. Four-fucking-thousand. Do you know the significance of that number? That number is what your stats can cap at in this game. Why? Stat boosters. Basically, anyone can throw all their Pokédollars into certain Marts and acquire stat boosters to improve the stat. In official Pokémon games, this is balanced because they only give you Effort Values, which means they would cap at a reasonable amount. In this game, it goes over the EV limit so that you can have a higher stat than you are supposed to. Pay-to-win is not a system to be encouraged, and here's why: Most people talk about how pwipes are necessary to keep .savs (save files) from causing problems with the game, and that is true. BYOND save files are very easy to corrupt. However, this most recent pwipe happened for multiple reasons, and one of them was because GMs thought that new players were not motivated upon seeing level 100s. From their point of view, they believed that those players left due to feeling unable to catch up. They believed that it was always the same players because new ones were unmotivated at the sight of such powerful trainers and Pokémon. Okay, so why do we allow stat boosters? Is seeing someone with 4,000 Special Attack more motivating than seeing someone with 394 Special Attack? Someone explain this to me in a reply, if you can, because I don't understand how this encourages people to play. Sure, you can dream about being overpowered, but you're just going to be ridiculed by people the moment you even talk about a desire to stat boost. Playing in a sour community is not entertaining in the slightest. If they're being left in because the Tempus Region leaders are using boosted Pokémon, then just stop and take a step back. Take away the boosts, give them legendaries, and you're good on giving them superior stats. Simple. Edited by xaddgx, Mar 29 2014, 12:20 AM.
