Writers Notebook Rules

The general rules have not been changed, however, I have added a few rules that should always be in effect when using the forums. Please review these rules and understand the potential consequences that may emit from breaking them.

Writing must be readable
This means that proper English grammar rules should be followed as best as possible. However, if you are having problems writing a sentence, feel free to contact Dragonknight.

Offensive content
No offensive content is allowed. This includes anything that insults or belittles other groups and/or people. Racism and sexism are examples.

Adult content
No excessively sexual material is allowed. If your writing contains any sexual reference a proper warning as stated above should be given. Please keep it PG-13. Remember, adolescence lurk these forums as well.

Warnings
Rating your fanfic protects your readers. Your readers rely on warnings in your fanfic to make sure that they do not read anything they would not want to read. Two rating systems can apply here. Either the film ratings, or the literature ratings.

Bumping
Only the author may bump their thread when posting a new chapter.
If you are not the author, you may not bump the thread in question.

Plagiarizing is not allowed
Do not steal another person's work and claim it as your own. If you are found to have done this, then a permanent four-point infraction is given to you.

All reviews must be constructive
When reviewing another person's literature, it must be constructive. When you read someone's literature, you should say something specific that you liked about it if there is something that you like. If you didn't like something, mention it specifically. Reviews that are not constructive will be deleted, and warnings/infractions will be handed out.

Posting
When you wish to post your work on PO, it is better to post here than to link to another site. Reasons for this include that this could technically count as advertising another site for unnecessary reasons.

Duplication of threads is not permitted.
If a thread is posted with the same topic as one that is viewable on the first page of the Game Corner, said thread will be deleted. If duplicated threads continue to emerge, the result may end in an infraction or possibly ban.

Forum etiquette.
Please be aware of what your fellow members posted. Be respectful and acknowledge their words or comments. Do not start a fuss or haze anyone in any way (this includes "trolling"). Failure to comply by this rules will result in an infraction.

Seriousness and effort.
When replying or creating a thread, please provide a full thought out message. Messages that only range from 3-4 words will be deleted. Continuation of this trend will result in an infraction, which leads to a possible ban. Please post earnestly; having to give an infraction for this rule is highly embarrassing for both mods and the member(s) in question.
