The Pokemon World Tournament: Two weeks of the strongest Pokemon Trainers from around the world, gathered in one place for the purpose of spreading the joy of Pokemon battles, and competing for the title of World Champion. simply being considered for the role of a participant is a great honor. Some Trainers dedicate their entire lives to training for the chance to compete, but few earn the right to compete. Every five years, the World Tournament is held at the World Tournament Stadium, just south of Driftveil City in the Unova Region. There are four types of battles and two levels. Of course, one major highlight of the World Tournament is the presence (and participation) of the various Gym Leaders, Elite Four Members, and even Pokemon League Champions from every region. Many view the World Tournament as a symbol of international peace and friendship, tearing down the barriers between nations and regions and uniting everyone around the world all for the love of Pokemon Battles. ~~~~~~~ Elena Matsuno sat in the viewing area of a luxury box at the World Tournament Stadium, in the company of the most esteemed Pokemon Professors and their assistants. She was quite honored to be invited to such a thing, especially since she'd been saving money to attend the tournament anyway. The viewing area had seats that looked more at home in a theatre than a sports stadium, with an excellent view of the arena. Through a glass door was the interior room with the sort of carpet and wallpaper one would expect in a luxury hotel, a leather sofa and two matching recliners in front of a plasma screen TV mounted on one wall, beneath which was a table with plates of hors d'oeuvres with a tall cooler of drinks next to it. The Opening Ceremonies had just finished, and included wonderful displays from the Kanto, Hoenn and Unova regions, leaving Sinnoh and Johto's displays to the Closing Ceremonies, which some from the two regions take as an insult, though most would disagree. All that remained was a speech from the head of the World Tournament Committee, before the battles began the next day. "I'd say Unova had a fantastic display this year." Said Lucas, assistant to Prof. Rowan, who sat next to Elena. "Agreed," Elena replied. "Much better than the year they tried to show Unova as a cultural melting pot by including a singing Jigglypuff." She and Lucas laughed. "What were they thinking that year?" "One can only guess. But whatever the answer, it clearly didn't involve checking one's facts..." "No kidding, you'd think someone would've caught that!" "Especially with how ubiquitous the media in this country is." "Speaking of, the headlines that week were absolutely priceless!" Cutting myself off there for now, so the rest of you have a chance to do an intro before I make important shit happen.... Edited by Elena Matsuno, Aug 26 2012, 03:12 AM.

Amphi and Zippo walked casually towards the correct section of the stadium at which they were supposed to sit at. It seemed like they were to sit up in the proverbial 'nose bleed' section. Not that it was a bad thing because being at the World Tournament was a rare treat. Most people could only dream about going and seeing the spectacle of many different pokemon and cultures from around the world. 'Zippo we're almost to our seats. I know we already missed the opening ceremony but this will still be fun to watch.' Amphi sighed as he looked in front of him only to see more stairs heading up another level. 'We must have gone up 4 flights of stairs already!' Amphi shouted loudly at the ceiling as Zippo stared up at Amphi from the ground almost laughing as the went up the stairs and walked towards their seats. 'Zippo~' Amphi shouted, 'I think I found our seats!' Amphi ran towards the two empty seats at the top level of the section he was to sit in, with Zippo following close behind him, and pushed past many tournament fans who seemed to be agitated by Amphi and his pokemon running in front of them towards their seats, before plopping down in his seat with his partner next to him, ready to watch the remainder of the tournament. |

The sound of the excitement from the crowd shook the lockers inside the locker room. Yoshi, one of the Hoenn sky divers is still there getting back into his "Street" clothing. Yoshi reached inside of his duffle bag and grabbed a pokeball. Out of the pokeball appeared Tycho, Yoshi's Blaziken. "You missed the big event, Tycho I had an awesome time out there," said Yoshi. The fowl pokemon nodded at Yoshi. "I bet you are hungry for a pokeblock," said Yoshi. The fire started started hopping with excitement. "Okay Tycho settle down, lets see if I can find your pokeblocks," said Yoshi as he dug around in his duffle bag to find his pokeblocks. "Eureka, I found them," said Yoshi as he pulled out the Pokeblock case. Yoshi examined the case to see if any red pokeblocks are inside. "Darn, looks like we're out of red blocks Tycho," said Yoshi. Tycho lowered his head in sadness. "Dont be sad buddy, I know they should have some pokemon food here," said Yoshi. "Your not the only one hungry." Yoshi placed the case back inside his bag right next to his packed parachute. Yoshi checked to make sure that his Pokenav was still in one piece. "looks ok to me, but its going to need to be charged," said Yoshi while examining the navs display. "Ok Tycho lets go get something to eat, and watch the tournament." Yoshi and Tycho exited the locker area and entered into the main concourse in route to the consession stands. |
