It's general advice, not directed solely at you. And don't say "I know." |

I don't believe a forum's job is to "publish" or publicize new ideas. I see it as more of a place to discuss them. To incubate and trial potentials and possibilities etc. I see a forum as more of a mass of raw data. You might have different ideas. It's your forum.

This site is an organic development of message board discussion, and maintains the format without, perhaps, maintaining the typical usage. In other words, it's what I'm used to, and it's working well enough for now. Sure, it could be in a blog format, where replies are "comments" instead of "posts". But I've always preferred this, aesthetically. There are cute pictures next to our messages. |

So I think that people take forums are "works in progress" rather than finished articles. |

Threads, I take it that you mean, are works in progress. However, the set of information in an OP, or in a reply, or combination of the two, can be quite finished. If some people might refuse to accept that...There is a limit to my accomodation. |

If I did it right, new threads should have to be approved before they appear now. This is primarily to prevent dilution of what I consider important content (with respect to the category views) without resorting to deleting new threads after the fact. Broad and profound topics are more likely to be accepted. For example, a thread about type and religion which provides some keen insight is more likely to be accepted than a thread about ESTJs and product marketing which proposes nothing. +For reasons unknown, enabling topic moderation disables members' ability to edit posts, so I may leave it off indefinitely. The VI Database is changing; it'll just be text from now on. The primary and major reason for this is disaffection for the tedium of updating and maintaining it. I haven't added to it in many months, so it only contains old typings. If I've gotten better consistently, which I think I have, that means the accuracy rate of the VIDB was lower than the overall average of my typings. So, it will be replaced. Hopefully Tan and I will muster the work ethic to keep simple lists updated perpetually. |

I stopped posting quality new theory years ago because I want to "get mine" before giving more away for free--with the exception of that which is notably antagonistic to my opponents, of course. But I'm willing to sell publication of the general stuff, and for the right price (quite high) I could even tell you about it and pretend I didn't write it so you could take credit for it. Ask me in PM about any topic, and I'll tell you if I've analyzed it with produce, in the past or upon the inquiry. Quantitatively, what I've worked out could be more than is presently on the site. But nothing beats task theory. |

Search appears to be broken at the moment. As a workaround one can google "post_modern_16_type" followed by the appropriate term. +It works again now, but it might not always. Edited by Edmond Zedo, Sep 9 2016, 08:51 AM.

For wild example, "When to use full-auto with an assault rifle." Basically no one seems to know, based on vast observation. I wouldn't sell exclusivity to a police department for any price, but to a military, sure. (I'd sell as a public post to anyone.) |

Apparently the powers that be are forcing an "upgrade", where everything gets moved to something called tapatalk. I'm just hearing about it and it sounds like all bad news, but so far less bad than last time when without warning the board just disappeared. "Test" link and supposed link to the forum in the future, bookmark it if you care: https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/post_modern_16_type/index.php |
