Telon followed along behind the two women with Noamuth prowling alongside.

The lion hadn't smelled the cultist Reyvan had slain, not until the spell of concealment had been broken. That wasn't exactly promising - he couldn't rely on the lion's nose, but at least he knew that now.

"The drop off here is...well, to say steep would be a vast understatement," Helo said, after they had ridden by the dead cultist. "But it would appear that, as we travel further down the road, it becomes less of a sheer drop and more rocky - if, by chance, one of us goes over the edge it had better be when we're all much further down the road as then we'll have a chance of landing on a ledge and surviving the fall."

He paused, then added "that's not to say we likely won't break something on the way down, however. I highly suggest we avoid going near the edge, regardless of reason."

Dora only nodded her head sharply, once, to let the hunter knew she had heard him and agreed - she needed all her sense focused forward, on the road in front of them. It probably wouldn't be long until -

It was the whistle of air that had let her know a blade was slicing toward Zaa's left flank; with nothing but a sharp breath of air she kicked out and drew Zaa back onto his hind legs at the same time, to kick out at their unseen attacker. If things went well, they could count how many seconds it took until he hit the bottom of the cliff - idiot for attacking from that side, the cultist was.

Helo drew his bow and fitted an arrow across the string, holding it ready for a moment before lowering it and squinting down the road.

"...I think there is someone coming toward us. Multiple someones."

They were too far away still to tell who they were, though one of them seemed awfully large.

(( I'll tuck in right here, I suppose! )

Sebastian pulled back on Loyalty's reigns, his lips curling downward as he growled from his silence, "Damnit, these idiots don't give up easily." The steed pranced back and forth on the narrow path, the beast quickly becoming upset, "Calm, Loyalty! We've been through more than this, don't lose your head."

Squinting his eyes, he tried to look down the path in the direction Helothannin had been looking, "I sure do hope they're friendly." He joked cautiously.

It was with a grim frown of satisfaction that Zadora watched Zaa's hoof connect solidly with thin air - which, on second look, revealed itself to be the chest of a cultist. The force of the blow had sent the pathetic creature flying off the edge of the cliff, but she wasn't focused on the scream echoing back up to them. What was approaching them?

It took a moment of digging in his bags to find his spyglass, but after a moment Helo found it and extended it with a deft flick of his wrist before holding it up to his eye.

Centered in his sights he could now make out the approaching persons in better clarity.

"Cultists," he said after a moment, "though it appears they have...captives, or slaves with them. I cannot tell just yet, but there are humanoids with them that are carrying things. Supplies, most likely."

Growling silently, Sebastian nudged his steed, "Well, let's give them a nice greeting, eh?" He nodded toward the figures, "And help what appear to be slaves while we're at it."

Pursing her lips, the paladin quickly moved to try and take a rough headcount of how many they would be facing - normally it wouldn't matter so much, but with innocents in the way it made things more complicated. The cultists could chose to use them as human shields, or might kill them in an attempted scare tactic. Neither of those things were acceptable, which left their little group with limited options.

"Reyvan... do you think you could get between the slaves and the cultists, and cut them free from their bonds?" She really, truly hated the idea of sending the undead out there like that, but she also knew that Rey could handle it, "If you can get them away from their captors, we'll all have an easier time of it. I believe that none of us want innocent blood shed."
