"Or perhaps we should just kill him," Helo said quietly.

The cultist's eyes shifted to him, still glaring - no hint of fear.

"I doubt he'll cooperate, even though cooperating may mean he'll eventually be released and free, free to go back to serving his cult of destruction."

Helo removed the dagger from his belt and examined it. The feel of the magic within it still made him sick, but he bent and lightly ran the tip of the dagger down the bare arm of the cultist. Even though he did not press hard enough to leave a mark of any kind, a faint dark line still appeared on the skin.

"Nasty piece of work," he said. He tapped the tip of the dagger against his (armored) palm. "He at least deserves a choice, though. What do you choose: death, or cooperation?"

The spit that landed on Helo's cheek was probably answer enough.

Reyvan pressed her dagger closer to the man's throat, drawing a trickle of blood, but hesitated to kill him. She wasnt sure she liked the idea of killing a man while he was defenceless. She had done so before, of course. Sneaking up behind people to stab them in the back was a speciality of hers. But she only ever did it when it was necessary to complete a mission. Was killing this man absolutely necessary?

Helo calmly wiped the spit off his face and stood.

"There is a small coil of rope in the largest bag on Telon's saddle. Tie him up and drag him back to the druids. If being a captive is so much worse than being dead, then we'll let him be a captive."

Quickly he scanned their surroundings - if they had attracted the attention of any other cultists, they may very well be surrounded by now. No faerie dragons were in sight, the commotion must have startled them, and until they came back...

Helo gestured and Telon strutted over; he dug the coil of rope out and dropped it to the ground near Zadora, then he retrieved a cylinder from another bag. It was about the length of his hand, an inch and a half in width, and was a dull color - red, he'd been told. He looped a finger into a string attached to one end and pulled, and fire sprouted out of that end and the cylinder began to emit a steady flame.

"You may be hidden from sight, but is an invisible person exempt from the laws of nature?" he asked - no one in particular, but more musing aloud to himself. "I very much doubt an invisible person can leave no shadow, but I've never tested that theory. Today seems a good day to try."

((And this is a question I have honestly debated with friends. You know you're a nerd when you debate both magical applications AND ingame religious tenants and can keep up a lively debate for hours on end. XD ))

Zadora scooped the rope up quickly and set to binding their captive tightly. Letting Helo do what he would, she kept all her focus on the cultist Reyvan had trapped - these scum would do anything and she wasn't totally safe until he was trussed up like a Harvest Turkey. Finishing with that, she stood, surveying the land - had the Blood Elf found anything?

Reyvan wiped her dagger on the thick grass to clean it of blood. She allowed herself a small smile of relief. Her companions didnt want to play executioner any more than she did.

Helo scanned the area, the light from his flare throwing their immediate surroundings into elongated shadows.

If he wasn't mistaken, there was a humanoid-shaped shadow hugging the trunk of a tree about twenty yards away and to their left. He only noticed it because it seemed lighter than the surrounding shadows...it might be a hiding cultist, or it may just be his usual difficulty to tell darkened areas apart. Either way, it wasn't something he felt he could leave up to chance.

"If only we had another faerie dragon," he said quietly, but he knelt down. "Do you see it?" he added a moment later, casually indicating where he thought he was seeing something out of the ordinary.

Looking up from their captive for only a moment, Dora nodded, reaching for the flare he held, "Shoot it."

He handed her the flare and, in a quick-draw motion, had his bow up and an arrow fired within seconds.

The arrow plunked into the tree at a height that turned out to be at the shadow's shoulder, as the shadow turned into a human male who moved to put the tree between himself and the blood elf and then began to run.

"Damn," Helo muttered. "Though I suppose it's a good thing I didn't aim higher."

He planted a foot on Noamuth's shoulder and used the lion as a springboard - ignoring Noamuth's insulted griping about being used as such - and leapt out sideways, getting beyond the tree trunk's ability to block his sight. He fired two more times, missing once entirely and the other pinning the hem of the cultist's robe to the ground just long enough to trip the human up.

"There, got hi- GAH-"

Helo had taken barely three steps that direction when the cultist turned and gestured, and flames sprang up along the chest and arms of the hunter's armor. Immediately he fell to the ground and began to roll to smother the flames.
