Character Name: Krixtian Hearthstone

Gender: Female

Race, Class, and Spec: Human Rogue (Either Subtlety or Combat)

Appearance: Greying hair, but used to be auburn brown. Tanned complexion, but, if not tanned, would be rather fair. Hazel eyes. Not butt ugly, but not startling pretty either. A bit better than average, and very athletic. Late middle age, but in fantastic shape for it. Wears normal, if well cared for, clothing. Nothing rich, but definitely not beggars clothing either, in drab browns and greys, with only a bit of rich dark green to break it up.

History: Krixtian started "adventuring" before WoW "Vanilla", and has definitely been around the block. She started out as a Ret-Paladin, but was thrown out on her arse for her dalliance with a Blood Elf Paladin right before "Wrath of the Lich King" and during "Burning Crusade" during the Summer Festival. Strange part is that they stayed together, and she and Vailodore are nigh inseperable. Both stick close to the Argent Dawn, and now that it has been renamed the Argent Crusade they both fight for it. That's the short telling of a really, really long story. One she really prefers not to go into too much depth about with people she's just met.

But, for the purpose of this application, we'll assume a certain degree of familiarity (or that a certain amount of gossip got around).

Krixtian of Thelsamar is infamous for two things;
1) She was raised by dwarves after her parents were killed just outside of Thelsamar when they were caught out by Black Rock Orcs in the pass heading to Menethil Harbour. She can hardly remember anything of her time before Thelsamar, and so regards the Dwarves as her people more than she does other humans. She speaks with a very pronounced Dwarven brogue accent, and is more at home in the warrens and underground cities of the dwarves.
2) She's an ex-Paladin, kicked out by the Order in Stormwind for consorting with the enemy. Which, in her case is a Blood Elf Paladin she met while working for the Argent Dawn and... well... the rumours are very true. When they say consort, they mean caught in bed in the inn in Booty Bay with said Blood Elf, which, for an upstanding member of the Alliance was evidently a rather large taboo. And, it's not that she was caught, it was her blase and unrepentant attitude in regards to the entire affair when they demanded she atone or explain herself. To her mind, there was nothing to explain, and it was none of their business. That's the public record and probably the actually rather accurate gossip version. The actual details are this - She had fought for the Alliance, and then the Argent Dawn. When the gate opened to Outlands, she traveled out to Outlands and discovered the Scryers, which helped her find a more neutral stance on Horde vs. Alliance... in fact... everything about Outlands had the Paladin quickly questioning the wisdom of the factional infighting between the Alliance and the Horde. Seeing both so-called "sides" fight against a common enemy and work together made her realize that perhaps peace, if they only tried, was possible. This started her down the "neutral" path more so than working for the Argent Dawn back on Azeroth did.

But, her time in Outlands was actually cut short... she never did get to see the end of that campaign as she was grievously injured, both in body and heart/spirit, and sent back 'home' to Stormwind. After her body healed, she found she couldn't stand the anti-Horde sentiment and constant calls for battle in Stormwind and slipped away, back to the still Scourge-riddled north of the Plaguelands. It was during this time that a prank gone overboard, as well as the retaliation, made her snap and the heart-sickness sore tore open fully.

It was one, hot, Mid-Summer Eve when they were reveling around the fire, some doing the magical fire-dance, others in full Mid-Summer flame attire, like her, and dancing around the pole with the magical fiery ribbons of the Chillwind Camp when a few Horde pranked the fire, putting it out and then running. Like the fire-dancers, who rolled their eyes and started the fire again to continue dancing, Krixtian laughed at the prank and continued to party. However, when it turned deadly, she snapped completely, attacked both Alliance and Horde alike in her rage over what she felt was a too heavy handed response to the pranksters, who were not more than just kids by Alliance veterans in the area.

Irony would have it that another Paladin, if a Blood Elf, and a Tauren Shaman saw the fight, and jumped in to intervene on the experienced Paladin, recognizing her as a fellow Scryer. That Blood Elf was Vailodore, another member of the Argent Dawn who had been sent by Command to check on Chillwind Camp and the Bulwark. Vailodore and the Shaman were forced to knock Krixtian into unconsciousness, and, seeing her as another Argent Dawn, they decided to take matters into their own hands and take her back via flight point to Light's Hope for Command to deal with. After Command talked to Krixtian, when she woke up again, they determined it was PTSD from her time in Outlands and told her she was being given a Leave of Absence, and sent to a more restful, vacation-like surrounding. After a short conversation, they realized that sending her to Stormwind, or even Ironforge, would be a mistake given her disillusionment with the Factional War. It was Vailodore who came up with a solution - while it wasn't peaceful per se, it was neutral and as far from the action as one could get... not to mention it was a land of beaches and that if there was any trouble, two Paladins of obvious skill to deal with Outlands could more than handle it with one hand tied behind their backs, and that was Stranglethorn Vale, in specific... Booty Bay. Krixtian, with a bit of coaxing by the handsome Blood Elf, finally agreed to go with him to Booty Bay.

At first, it was professional, if friendly, but entirely innocent. They were two experienced members of Argent Dawn, as well as the Scryers. They had seen much and had earned the respite. They even stayed in separate rooms at the inn, and then rented a house, but still continued to stay in separate rooms. Krixtian would spend her days "fishing", where in truth she spent them brooding. When Vailodore would find her he would try to rouse her from her broods. In the beginning he failed more often than succeeded (he wasn't exactly counseling material!), and eventually he sent for, and was granted, a healer type that could help her at least talk out her problems. Eventually, she started to show more of her old, jovial, personality as her demons were dealt with. The healer type left, and she and Vailodore spent their time living the life domestic, if distantly.

But eventually, slowly, that changed.

The more they talked and spent time together, the more they found themselves seeking the other out. Vailodore, while used to the usually vain and stunning females of his kind, found her grounding, and she wasn't that hard to look at either. She was pretty, for a human, not not stunning or beautiful. He found, however, that her personality more than made up for it. She was well-read, and while self-educated... she was very educated. She found him engaging, witty, funny and intense... and it didn't help that as an elf he was extremely easy on the eyes.

By the time they realized what had happened, they had fallen for each other and couldn't imagine not being with each other.

Unfortunately, shortly after they realized this and abandoned the separate sleeping arrangement and all pretense of not being an item, her colleagues from the Order in Stormwind showed up to see how she was doing.

The rest is as the gossip says it is.

However, the Argent Dawn couldn't care less, and while she chose to set aside her life as a Paladin and take up the subtle arts of a rogue, they still had a place for her. When Arthas struck with the Death Knights, she stood at Light's Hope against them with Vailodore and the others. When the call was made, and the Argent Dawn because the Argent Crusade she proudly donned the tabard of the Crusade and went North to Northrend, doing her part to end the Scourge with relish. She was separated from Vailodore, and he was presumed dead. She was devastated, and after Arthas fell (which, again, she didn't have a personal hand in... although this time she was there to the end of the Campaign in a support role) she returned to Loch Modan and settled down back in the Inn in Thelsamar where she was raised, this time mourning her lost love... although she came back with a new friend by the name of Morazormu, a young Bronze Dragon who she flies on from place to place as he's quicker in the sky than the flight point griffons.

When Deathwing caused the new Shattering, she took up her arms again, and, on the back of Morazormu, traveled straight to Hyjal... there to meet someone she thought dead as she was reunited with Vailodore.

And now the three travel, usually, together. Although, sometimes for one reason or another, they can be found separate.

Personality: Krixtian is actually rather reserved, and cautious, although, once she gets to know her fellows she is jovial and easy-going. The reservation is a hold-over from when she was a Paladin, and also a result of being thrown out unceremoniously of her Order for what the Paladins in Stormwind felt was "consorting with the enemy".

Likes:
- Dwarven ale & mead, as well as dwarven cuisine.
- Art and Reading (she is well learned and devours books as a favourite past time... figuratively speaking... but a good book will be well received by her!)
- Dragon kind - they've been more accepting of her unusual partner.
- Dwarven kind - she was raised by dwarves after her parents were killed when she was young, and so is more used to dwarves than humans, and feels more at home in Loch Modan (where she grew up) or any place like it.
- Horses - has a pet dream of someday owning a stable or ranch... when she settles down enough.
- Berries & cheeses. She cannot explain it, but she loves these two kinds of food over anything else and will often carry these over anything else.
- Warm, comfortable and tropical places that are always pleasant, or nearly always, especially the older she gets.

Dislikes:
- Humans. Well, not to say she dislikes them but more doesn't understand them, especially after she was kicked out of her own Order by them. Especially doesn't get King Varian's mindset.
- Undead - with an unmitigated passion. Barely tolerates the Forsaken (more pities their unfortunate lot in... unlife... and hopes a solution is found to their plight that doesn't involve more unlife). But will go out of her way to destroy/hunt the Scourge where ever they are found.
- Dry, arid places - because sand always gets where it is most uncomfortable and she doesn't deal with unreasonable heat very well.
- Hot, humid places - because it makes her sticky, and not in a good way, and she doesn't deal with unreasonable heat very well.
- Inter-factional warring between the Horde and Alliance - considers this to be the largest waste of time ever and wishes both sides would grow up, get over it and fight more important issues instead of useless infighting... such as the Scourge or Deathwing. Especially the Scourge.

Probable Allies:
- Argent Dawn
- Argent Crusade
- other neutral factions
- The dwarves of Loch Modan (where she grew up)
- Vailodore (the Blood Elf Paladin lover in question...)
- Other "neutral" minded people of both the Horde and Alliance
- Wyrmrest Accord
- The Bronze Flight and Keepers of Time
- Her Bronze Drake friend, Morazormu, who, in the actual game itself is her "fast flight mount", but in RP is actually a character to himself and has his own voice and chooses to carry her around because she works for his flight so often and because... well... he kinda likes her although he knows she's Vail's.

Probable Enemies:
- Scourge
- Dark Iron Dwarves
- The Paladin Order in Stormwind (well, not enemies but she definitely blows big raspberries in their direction!)

Sample Post:
"It's not like I don't care about the war..." Krixtian thought for a moment, then shook her head. "Oh, who am I kidding? Grow up, get over yourselves, quit the infighting already and let's fight our real enemy, which at this moment is Deathwing."

Shortly after that, she got up, walked back over to the bar and threw a few silvers on the polished surface, leaning on the bar as she waited. With an incline of her head, and a crooked smile over teeth that were slightly uneven from years of fighting, but thankfully not to the point of throwing her face or smile out of line, she picked up her mug of Dwarven ale. "Ah, good brew this. Doesn't have the kick like the Dark Iron piss that passes as ale, but still passable. Now, you were saying?"

Misc. Information: If not adventuring, is usually found in either Thelsamar or in the Dwarven Quarter of Stormwind. Failing that she works for the Argent Crusade and Wyrmrest Accord, favouring the Bronze Flight. Failing that "reliving" how she got into trouble with Vailodore in Booty Bay...

Krixtian has been almost played to death, I've been playing her in game, RP'ly, since there was only "Vanilla" (no expansions!) to play, so she has had a lot of time to develop. I intend to play her twilight years from middle age onwards, which for an adventurer, is typically the beginning of the end as they draw ever closer to either retirement or death as they can't quite keep up with the younger generation. Krixtian has sore knees and ankles, and a twitchy hip and lower back. This is mostly why Morazormu will not let her out of his sight as he can tell she is coming towards the end and he wants to make it last as long as he can. He's not the only one - Vailodore can tell his human friend is swiftly approaching her twilight years, and while "Blood Elves" are not immortal, they are longer lived than humans by more than a few times. He knew when they promised each other "forever" that she could give him her forever, but... he couldn't give her his. For Morazormu, who has never had a friend outside of other dragons, seeing his first one dying before his eyes (even if she has years or decades left) is a painful lesson.

Krixtian is not unaware of their feelings, but chooses to... while not ignore it... try to make them see that she will live her life fully and that when she does pass no one can say she wasted her years, but she is a bit frustrated that the more the years slide by the more the two seem to desperately try to hold on.

Timezone: EST, we also observe DST.

Did you read the rules? I did. My favourite NPC is... well... I don't have one. I have more than one, with the top of that list being Nozdormu, followed by Chromie... then Alexstraza. Yes... I like dragons... was it that obvious, lol? I like the Bronze Flight the most, but my close second favourite are the Reds, however, Krix flies on a Bronze and will likely ALWAYS fly with her Bronze friend, Morazormu.

EDIT: Got into more detail on Krixtian's RP history.

Looks good, though you won't be able to RP your bronze drake as a separate character here - we only allow board members to RP what is available at the character creation screen, essentially. You'll have to treat Morazormu as just a mount that's used as transportation and little else, or it may be best to not include him at all. I know this kinda sucks, having read through your ap and seeing how the bronze dragon means a lot to your character, but yeah...

If you're okay with being unable to RP Morazormu, I'll approve your application. If you want to edit your application to change that bit, go ahead and then reply again or mark in your ap that you've made the changes and are ready for me to look it over again.

That's fine. Vail is likely not going to be a completely separate character either, unless my husband actually chooses to not only RP on WoW itself but also join us here. For now, until he either joins and makes Vail an actual character, both Mora & Vail are intended as NPC's.
