So yeah, I was playing chapter 14, Ephraim's route, on Sacred Stones the other day, and I had a really odd experience with the berserk staves wielded by the druids at the top of the map. One of them had used up its staff already, so I sent Gerik to the other side to waste the other one. However, I sent Joshua with him, just to get their support level up. Joshua was promoted and Gerik wasn't, so I figued that if Gerik got berserked, Joshua would be able to get out of range, and Gerik would target the remaining bishop behind the door instead. Unfortunately, there was one huge gap in my logic: the druid would be able to berserk Joshua the turn after berserking Gerik.
 So of course, the RNG decides to let both of them become berserked. And this is where the fun begins. Gerik is hit by the berserk staff, and the next turn, he kills the bishop I mentioned earlier. I had cleared out most of the map, so there were no more enemies in the area. Then, the next turn, Joshua is berserked. The next chance they got, they charged at each other, and attacked. I was hoping two berserked units wouldn''t be able to attack each other, but I was wrong. So each turn, they would exchange blows, each of them getting just one hit. Gerik's speed was high enough so that he wouldn't get doubled, and for some strange reason, when one attacked, the other didn't give a counter-attack. I sent a weaponless Cormag in to try and distract them, but they didn't bite. The next turn, Gerik finished Joshua, and I had to reset.

Characters don't counterattack when their berserked ally attacks them. |

Well, yeah, that makes sense. But I figured since they were both berserked...I donno. |

thats like my berserked Dieck going against my Berserked Bors They were both promoted, and Dieck's speed was high enough to dodge the blows, but Bors defense was high enough so that he would only take like 2 damage every hit |

Yeah. Apparently the developers didn't bother to fix that. |

Pft, lucky. Both of my units had pretty bad defence and pretty good strength, good enough skill to prevent the other from avoiding thier attacks, and the fact that they both used swords only increased their chances of hitting. They were each taking 10-20 damage each hit. |

well it was a hero with a Slim sword, against a General with a Hand Axe, but I'm just lucky that Alan avoided being berserk, he was a Lv.12 Paladin with like 19 STR, and he had a Silver Lance, and an Iron Blade |

Wow, those are some pretty good weapons for a situation like that. I was lucky MY paladin didn't get berserked too; Franz was huddled in the corner with all the weak units I wasn't actually using (L'Arachel, Rennac, and Ephraim). That's right, I wasn't using Ephraim. I said it. If Franz would have been berserked, it would've been a bloody massacre. |

wow, well I didn't use Ephraim that much the first time I played it, but I learned that Reignleaf is very helpful against Vigarde p.s. I made another mug for your myrmidon boss |

Kewlness. And with the high level my units are at, I don't need Reginlief anyway. |

Nice! Anyway, that is a pretty funny way to have to reset a chapter. I hope it does not happen again for ya. |

In that chapter, my Great Knight Kyle and Hero Gerik owned my healers and Artur. |

Heehee...don't worry about me, NPR.
As annoying as it was, that was easily one of the most entertaining ways that I've failed a chapter.

Well, at least you're not stuck on chapter 5 (or something around there). I can't get past it (in hard mode, I'm not that sucky). Darn Civilians keep getting killed. Why does it seem like the early chapters are harder then the later ones? I had this problem with PoR too. That stupid escape chapter early on took me forever. |

Chapter 13 hard mode is what I am stuck on currently. I am not tower abusing so it makes it 20 times harder. |

Haha, yeah, those early chapters ARE a pain...I still remember my first FE playthrough, POR on normal...No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't seem to get past Blood Runs Red.
It didn't help that I thought Jill needed to be recruited in that chapter, and that one of my friends had already told me that Jill was amazing.
