Thursday, August 9th Update: Pit's Final Smash

Today, we get a glipse of Pit's Final Smash, demonstrating that there truly is strength in numbers. He "raises his voice to heaven", calling upon Goddess Palutena to aid him. An army of Centurions is summoned, divebombing at your opponents. Their swift attacks will certainly distract them, if not build up thier damage counters to frieghteningly high levels.

Friday, August 10th Update: Franklin Badge

Today, we get a handy new item that protects us from projectiles. It's a small, round badge that has the word Mother on it, so I'm assuming it originates from the Earthbound series. It's small, and when picked up, the character places it somewhere on his or her body. DK, for example, will put it on his chest, while Kirby just sticks it on his forehead. It will come off eventually, so if you don't pay attention to your badge, you may be caught off guard by a projectile that suddenly decides to start damaging you. ;)

I know why it says MOTHER on it! It's from the Mother series. Dumb Americans that don't know that.
Previously known as Link, so Kenshin doesn't get confused.

Monday, August 13th Update: Pokemon Trainer

A new character has been announced. Yes, you can now play as a Pokemon Trainer. However, you don't actually control the trainer. The trainer uses Pokemon to fight for him: a Squirtle, an Ivysaur, and a Charizard. It seems you control these Pokemon, one at a time. Whether you pick which one you use, or use all three alternating, I do not know. We'll just have to wait and see.

*wouldn't be surprised if the Pokemon Trainer isn't available for Adventure Mode*

And really, what is Sakurai thinking? I get in from the first Cross Country practice, firmly reminded that I am out of shape, I'm worn out, and see a "Challenger Approaching" box. What do I get? Not Ridley, not Isaac, heck, not even Wolf or Vaati or Lucario. I get something that looks like that dude from the show. *firmly refuses to use PT in normal matches more than is required*

Dude, are you blind? The Pokemon Trainer is wearing different clothing, has different colored hair, a different skintone... They're almost nothing alike, other then both being from Pokemon.

@Firefly: You alternate between them. It'll be like Zelda/Shiek was in Melee, except with three forms (Charizard, Ivysaur, and Squirtle) instead of two.

I haven't watched the show since I was eight, so my memory is probably shaky. It's not like I'm going to run out and find out what that guy looked like down to the smallest detail.

On closer inspection, though, he looks just like the main character of FireRed/LeafGreen, which would sort of make him the same as the dude off TV...I think. *still wonders how in blaze's name they're going to pull this one off*

Tuesday, August 14th Update: Devil

This new Assist Trophy is going to cause a lot of trouble. The Devil is supposedly from an NES game that was never released in the US called Devil World. Once released, the Devil will rise above the stage. It will than point in a specific direction, making the entire stage fly in that direction! Since this particular Assist trophy doesn't seem to give you any sort of advantage, this is one little thing you shouldn't be looking forward to seeing.

I've heard of Devil World, and from what I understand, it's kinda like Pac-Man. Only with a disco-dancing devil at the top of the screen.

Wednesday, August 15th Update: Stickers

Looks like a new collectable item type, reminicent to Melee's trophies. You can collect stickers from playing the game, and there are a lot of different types. It's even hinted that snapshots may be able to be made into stickers.

As far as being posted on the update site, no. I think it has been hinted at that there will be online play, though. I remember something about a statement saying there wouldn't be online ranks because it would be too hard to implement.

Friday, August 17th Update: Peach

The princess of the Mushroom Kingdom has been confirmed to return for a second round in Brawl. She doesn't seem much different from Melee, aside from the obvious more detailed appearence. One of the screenshots shows that her attack of using Toad as a shield is back, which basically crushes any chance Toad may of had of joining the fight in this game.
