Monday, August 20th Update: Link's Special Moves

While Link's B-moves remain basically the same as in Melee, there are a fwe minor changes. For example, you can now charge Link's spin attack move, and the boomerang (which is now actually the Gale Boomerang), will actually pull your opponent back as it returns to you. The clawshot can still grab on to ledges, but this time, it seems to be able to target the ledges a bit better than before.

Tuesday, August 21st Update: The Subspace Army

More light is shed on the adventure mode type element of Brawl. The Subspace Army is a mysterious force ruled by the Ancient Minister. Creatures named the Primid are introduced, and will likely play the role of random little enemies you have to defeat throughout the game, similar to goombas and koopas from various Mario games. The objective of this group is to break off pieces of the world and transport all of it into subspace. There are Subspace bombs used to accomplish this, and they are activated by a pair of robots called R.O.B. (sound familiar? ;) ) There is also a follow-up to the video displayed a couple of weeks ago, showing these villians taking actions. It seems to be a set-up for a lovely Kirby vs. Petey Pihrana battle. ^_^

Petey Piranha FTW! I could care less if he's playable, but he's in the game and that's all that matters!

Wednesday, August 22nd Update: Diddy Kong

I was expecting to find dome random, pointless update today (stickers, anyone? ;) ), and was pleasently surprised to find a second Kong introduced as a playable character. Diddy's fighting style is bound to be much swifter and nimbler than his muscular counterpart, and should be a lot of fun to use. He also happens to bring his Rocketbarrel Boost (Up-B, no doubt) and his trusty Peanut Pop Gun (probably another B move) along with him to help him out.

When I saw the "Challenger Approaching", I thought back to yesterday and went "Okay, so Petey's playable." Then Diddy popped up, and I'm like, "What the crap?!"

Anyway...

Monday, August 27th Update: Superspicy Curry

Another item update, and this one is frightfully hot. Unlike the food items from Melee, this does a lot more than just recover a little bit of damage. When you eat it, the sheer spiciness causes you to shoot out a constant stream of flames. Even when you use normal attacks, the flames just keep coming.

Tuesday, August 28th Update: Andross/B-moves

We have a double update today. First off, Star Fox villian Andross comes in the form of a new item. He is in his old fashioned, original form. When used, the giant head retreats into the background and shoots a bunch of "polygonal panels" out of mouth at the fighters.

The second update is a simple "how to play" update explaining the special B-moves. While the moves themselves aren't anything new, the examples used for demonstrating the four types of B-moves are actually Metaknight's moves. So we do get a preview of how Metaknight will fight.

Wednesday, August 29th Update: Pokemon Trainer Special Moves

The Pokemon Trainer uses 3 different Pokemon, leaving space for a large number of different moves. Down-B rotates Pokemon for all 3 of them, and 6 of the remaining B-moves are revealed.

Shouldn't there be three moves per pokemon? They skipped Squirtle's B^, Charizard's B^, and Ivysaur's B>.
Previously known as Link, so Kenshin doesn't get confused.

Thursday, August 30th Update: Gliding

All those fliers will be able to put their wings to use more effectively before. Winged characters (currently includes Pit, Metaknight, and Charizard) can now glide through the air after using their mid-air jump. This move can be executed simply by holding the jump button, or by rapidly tilting the control stick forward of backward. While gliding, angle and speed can be controlled by tilting the control stick.
