I appreciate that a seperate soundcard will free up the processor a bit but is it really worth it? Granted we're only talking about 35quid for a Soundblaster card. Just trying to decide whether its worth it.

Fact: Black ops is a processor - eater..

So i guess yes.. But it depends by your rig specs if there will be any difference between on-board and other one...

But still.. STANDARD SOUND CARD >>>>> ON BOARD SOUND CARD...

I bought some not-expensive soundblaster audigy 2 years ago and i will never use on-board sound again.. just because of quality of sound i hear.. ( i am talking about listening to music mainly.. )

As i think about it .. there is only very little chance u will feel difference with game's chopinness ( I am talking about black ops, i hope mw3 will have some decent engine :-) .. And no difference in FPS at all...

Well it looks like I can squeeze a pcie card in above my gfx cards so for the sake of 35 quid I might give it a go. Will probably make my life a bit easier too as I can run Skype through the onboard through my speakers and games through the Soundblaster and my cans.
