Hoping you can see this video (Jillian shared it with me on facebook, I can see it, but not sure what her privacy settings are). If you can't see it, let me know and I will try to download it and repost.

and a correction on one name - the one I called Sealand in my post is Sea-kun (the Japanese diminutive).

Seen it! Thank Jillian for the movie. And thanks for sharing!

Wow, just love seeing how active they are! Popcorn!

Again so thrilled for Jillian. Her "Jake" babies look like they are doing so well.

Thanks for the video! Funny bunnies. I very rarely get a litter that likes to "pop" around.

very unusual for us too. lol - Jillian is hoping the 'attitude' holds so she finally has JWs who will do agility (most of hers are just lumps that look at even a 2 inch jump as though to say 'you've got to be kidding'). 3 of this litter are real jumpers -- the 4th is hiding in the back of the box through most of the video. and the other litter are total sleepyheads in comparison. Meanwhile, I'm getting nervous they will be out of the nestbox before their eyes are open.

Thought about starting a new string for this, but it may help to refer to the earlier photos. -- color guessing game time.

1) How soon can you tell otters from martens?
2) Are the tan markings on blue otters slower to come in than on black otters?
3) How soon can you see shaded pattern on shaded martens?

Jillian is convinced her two blue babies are both martens - Ladonia blue silver marten, and Seakun smoke pearl marten. I think that would be an incredibly lucky dice roll (alignment of genes).

At 6 days old, Seakun's siblings are now clearly black otters -- triangle has been darkening/reddening for a couple days. Seakun's is still white. Here is Seakun with one of them...

Ladonia (top) is slightly older (8 days) than Seakun. Their colors are getting closer, but Seakun is still slightly lighter and notably 'warmer' in tone.

And since we are playing guessing games, we can guess on Ladonia's broken siblings too. Their nose markings are all very dark, but the one in the middle (Seborga) has very pale blue spots on his back.

Thanks Neubunny, definitely going to be watching this thread. Definitely interesting questions and will be interesting to see

Hoping Jillian is right on her guesses. Maybe there is that luck of alignment and Ladonia and Seakun are Martens! Fingers so crossed!

Lovely brokens. Could Seborga be a False Charlie? With the lack of a really defined nose markings? Kind of reminds me of my Luna.

Lovely babies. Are they still "popping" with loads of energy? Would be a bit nervous of them making it out of the nest box too before eyes are truly open.

All three of the brokens do have nose markings, Seborga's is just a tiny mustache - about half as much as KugelMugel (the one in the front) - but at least it is balanced. But I'm a bit worried that all three may be 'false charlies' in the sense that I'm not sure they make 10% color. Losing the ear color to the otter markings (so far still white on those two, NicoNico is gettting a touch of tan) makes a big difference.

Odds said the litters should be 50% dilute -- which we lost a bit with only 2 (maybe Seborga too) being blue. But still better than most previous litters - virtually every bunny Jillian owns is a blue carrier, but we rarely get blues.

Odds said the litters should be 50% broken - since Jillian prefers the solids, having 5 solids was good. But that both blues were solids is a pretty lucky alignment.

Odds give a 25% chance of martens -- that both solid blues would be the martens would be an incredible alignment.

Yes, Ladonia, KugelMugel and NicoNico are very active kits. Seborga is sleepier and only gets moving when they bump into him. The other litter is more typical sleepy kits. I'm nervous about them getting out of the nest box, but only a few more days (usually at 10 days we start to see peeking) until eyes start opening. Then we will have to debate when to turn the next box on its side -- no question that these guys are going to be getting out of the box soon - probably before they are able to jump back in.

Never know, maybe the Bunny Color Gods are smiling down on Jillian and will give her those two Martens. After losing her precious Jake, I'm so hoping they both turn out Martens for her.

I'm hoping as well! I'm not super familiar with siamese sable/smoke pearl so I'm not too sure about them being smoke pearl/sable marten. Not sure on otter vs marten, either. I do know that sables look a lot like blues at birth and I believe that smoke pearls are a really light blue. Keep us updated!

Colors still holding -- dark blue with very white markings. While the two black otters are now have very definite tan at the triangle (but still white in the ears).

One of the brokens (NicoNico - at top in the photo above) also has definite tan color in his ears.

I think I would be calling them blue silver martens at this point, except it shouldn't be possible for Sealand (given his half-brother Prussia is pointed, we know Serenity can't carry chin). Prussia is a very very dark blue on his ears and nose (I would call him sable point, except for the pink eyes - sable points have brown eyes -- I did the 'microscope test' someone on here recommended and see the microbanding, so we call him dark blue) - so I think it is still possible that smoke pearl is expressing as very dark blue on Sealand.

This is a case where it is fortunate that JWs show in groups -- even if we can't 100% figure it out by then, all the otters and martens show as 'tan group' - you don't need to specify which exact color on the show paperwork.

Glad to hear the colors are holding. And awesome, with the way JW's are shown, these beauties can be shown, even if you aren't 100% certain. Can't wait to see how they develop.

Litter one has eyes open - first escapee from the nest box this morning - I think it was NicoNico. Took a bit to convince Personality to let me pick him up and put him back. Jillian's going to tip the box tonight (so they can crawl in and out) if he or anyone else is out again.

Other litter is just starting to peek. Molossia (the original runaway black) is significantly bigger than siblings. They aren't as jumpy as the first litter, but try to climb (right up your shirt front, or over hands) when you hold them.

White triangles still holding on the two blues...
