Still so pleased to hear this! Can I ask what you've been doing exactly? Still giving treats every day, or trying different things? |

What worked best was the treats Sidd. She made the true connection of my hand and something yummy. Also making sure I do the same routine every morning. Just basically talking to her as I'm feeding the girls so she knows I'm around. Then before I even open her crate, let her truly acknowledge me. She's not startled at all, which also I think made her lunge. I think she was just unsure about a lot and with time she realized she was home. Just took her a bit longer than the others I think due to her eye sight. Realized she has a bit of a problem focusing quickly like the others. Just using her other senses like hearing and smell to help. Let me go, Z-Tribe getting antsy as we got up early and they feel it's time to eat. They are all peering, even Molly, waiting for me to come and start breakfast time. All those sweet faces looking with that hungry look. They know how to tug on those heart strings, big time. So well wired. KAZ |

Very neat! I'm going to have to keep this in mind for future REW kits and any nervous nellies. Just curious, what do you use for treats? |

I'm interested also about what you use for treats. I usually just pick dandelion leaves for my buns and the occasional vegetable. I'm working on growing an herb garden for them but it's not doing too well - I definitely don't have a green thumb. |

By treats, I mean something you know your rabbit will really like As I knew I wasn't going to breed Molly, used cheerios. Her true favorite as she is always sticking her head in the cheerios container to get an extra one, which I do allow, lol. Not a lot though because I'm always conscience about their weight, but always with her morning pellets offering the option of first taking a cheerio from my hand or from her bowl. She started sniffing my hand, then sniffing the bowl, and at the beginning never took it from my hand. Didn't force the issue, just kept talking to her. Now she does. Also have used papaya, greens she liked, and even pellets. Morning time is hungry bunny time. Buns are food motivated so used it to my advantage. Now she just enjoys getting her food as gradually started to cut back on the treats in the morning as all the Z-Tribe gets treats in the evening. She's not startled any more and with being hungry made her lunge. She has great parentage for a good, calm personality. Just needed to find a different way to bring that out, and this worked with Molly. KAZ |

My husband is the one with the green thumb. Dandelion leaves are a perfect treat. Especially if your shy doe really likes them. But always...moderation. KAZ |

I've also heard its good for nursing does. I usually just find a dandelion plant and pull the whole plant and split it between the two adult rabbits I have. They enjoy it. It's one of the only times a day that Sadie isn't growling at me. She hasn't bit me yet but has growled and "boxed" me with her front paws. But when she sees her treat bowl she comes to the cage door and sits patiently until I place the bowl down. She acts like an angel when theres food involved. But if somebody is touching her babies, she is not happy. |

She doesn't like me touching her kits but doesn't ignore them afterwards so she must have some sliver of trust for me. |

Yep, I'd say she has trust in you. Can't blame her for being so protective of her kits. She is a first time Mom and she's taking her job very seriously. KAZ |
