I feel very naggy and annoying but I'm an extremely impatient person and I know the only way to know if Sadie is pregnant is to palpate or wait for babies but I keep seeing "symptoms" that I don't really know if they are symptoms or my imagination trying to make me think I see her nesting or giving birth or whatever. Anyways...she hasn't nested yet. She is constantly running around her cage from her litterbox (where all the hay is) to her "nest box" and back. She doesn't carry any hay/straw around but she goes to her litterbox, eats some hay, then runs to her "nest box" and eats some straw. I don't know but to me she looks anxious. Another thing I noticed is some of the fur on her nose is gone. Her nose used to be white and now I can see the pink skin underneath like she rubbed the fur off on something. She also keeps licking (or sniffing) her genital area. She refuses to let me pick her up now though. I don't really want to either because she growls at me when I touch her. I weighed her two days ago and she was 4 pound exactly. I don't know if I should weigh her again since that would involve picking her up. Should I weigh her? Also, if I do weigh her, how much weight difference should I be looking for? |

patience. the hardest part of breeding. unless you have a good baseline (knowing her normal fluctuations) weight isn't going to tell you much. IMO, not worth stressing her. fur loss on the nose would not particularly be a pregnancy symptom. drinking more than normal might be (assuming indoors in a stable temperature -- not the crazy fluctuations we've had here lately). |

Okay. I won't weigh her. I haven't even attempted to pick her up since the first time I weighed her (2 days ago) because of how stressful it was for both of us. |

I'd just let her be. Stressing a pregnant rabbit may not be a very good idea. Nor turn out very well. Neubunny is right. Patience is the key went it comes to rabbit kindling. You are in the "waiting game". I know it's stressful for you as you really want her to have babies, but she can feel your stress as well. KAZ |

Luckily, a rabbit only has a gestation of around a month. |

So true. Just think if they were like elephants, you'd have to wait for at least 2 years, lol. But know how hard it is to wait just 38 days. It still seems like a long time. Fingers crossed she is pregnant, and all goes well, and you have healthy popples to enjoy watching grow. KAZ |
