These days, when the "bad mood hits us" and it's definitely in April (bad memories) we have found that a little "work and our Z-Tribe" helps us get back to coping. This way of coping makes pills and doctors look obsolete. Had some important that had to be done with no warning, so stayed home. But after all was done, the play and work began. We did have enough time to work on the bunny run and complete the lighting. Hoorah!! ![]() My husband did have a helper, lol Or should I say an inspector. Here's Lil checking the depth of the wire clearance. Making sure Dad didn't miss anything. ![]() Lilly felt the wire wasn't placed right. So a repositioning was necessary. ![]() Lilly helping with the final backfill of the underground wiring. ![]() Job well done! Lots of kisses from our girl. ![]() Really nice job. Lights all worked well. Our neighbor didn't need these anymore, or actually changed out his fixtures for different. So gave us these. My husband just fixed up the ones that weren't working and utilized them into our bunny run. Nice job. Will be good for those early mornings, especially in the summer. ![]() Here are the Z-Tribe girls enjoying their time out. ![]() Lilly was really curious of the buns, as she's only seen them indoors. ![]() And so were the buns curious of Lilly. Amazing what occurs when scenery is different. It was like they were seeing each other for the first time. ![]() Loved the interaction between the girls. They really enjoyed being around each other. ![]() Loved seeing these two interact. Molly was the last kit to leave, and it seems Luna has a special spot for her. Lots of interaction. Lots of groom through the wire. Really sweet to watch. ![]() Even the new friendship have blossomed! ![]() All in all, Luna thought it was a GREAT Time! ![]() The day run at the run was a success. Z-Tribe girls had an excellent time. And Lilly did so well with them. No problems, no barking at them, no growling, no digging to get to them. Good time had by all! And definitely was the best medicine for both of us! a Howling good time! ![]() KAZ |

Oh you should know me by now. Moro photos, lol My Beautiful Luna ![]() Lovely interaction between Mother and Daughter (Molly) ![]() Funny how when the girls went into their "pots" or "hidey holes", Lilly would be perplexed on where they went. ![]() Mom Luna wasn't the only one showing off their binkies. Here's sweet Fleur. ![]() And Lilly would like to show her bunny binky, lol ![]() But the best moment of all, was seeing this.... a actual smile on my husband's face. Yes, animals can be the best medicine for a broken heart! ![]() KAZ |

Thank you Neubunny, Definitely a splendid time had by all! Definitely gave us a good feeling seeing our Girls enjoy themselves. Plus Lilly did excellent as well. For the first time actually seeing the bunnies in their runs. Curious but not destructive. Today, girls are happily lounging in their crates as they are tuckered out by the time spent outside. It was perfect! Sun shining, very little wind, just too bad we just didn't have enough time to get the boys out and the big buns. They will shortly have a chance to stretch their legs, enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. KAZ |

Can't thank my husband enough for all the hard work he did on the bunny run. The Z-Tribe truly enjoys it. It's truly safe for them which was my husband's number one intention. There is no way any air borne or ground borne predators can get at them. Plus with Lilly, we know she's always on the look out. Watched her that day, and she started to do her "walk around" meaning she was really watching and checking the girls. Anything she didn't like, she made it known. Anything changed, she let be known. Luna and girls actually remembered the run from last year. They really enjoyed themselves out there. Especially Luna. She really goes to town with the binkies when she's really happy. Was thrilled with the action shot showing the height she can obtain. Molly has turned into such a sweet adult. Wall flower to mature. It was really amazing to watch. No food aggression at all in morning. Pleasure seeing that face again. No frustration here at all. Took Molly a bit when outside. She always goes into a corner and checks everything out thoroughly before she starts to really venture. Absolutely loved the interaction with Molly and Luna. Was nice to see the real recognition as a few times, saw Luna grooming Molly. Molly didn't pull away but moved in for more. Was really proud at how well the girls all got a long. Ginnie and Fleur had a ball running back and forth together, touching noses through the wire. I was more worried about fights than worried about Lilly's reaction to the buns in motion. But all the girls proved me wrong and had a really lovely time. Looking forward to really utilizing the bunny run this year. With Lilly, we have changed our time, meaning we have been getting up earlier than usual. Our diving experience always had us up very early in the morning to catch the dive boat. So this is not abnormal for us. Just age difference, lol. A bit tougher but that's all OK. Which is good as we will be out early mornings in the summer. The Z-Tribe truly loves their exercise. Thrive with fresh air and sunshine, which is needed. We believe in the "get them out, exercise them, make them strong". And in the early morning, it's fun to watch the Z-Tribe turn into "wild bunnies". They do move and dart. Takes them back to their wild side which is hardwired into them. Even if they are domesticated. What mental stimulation! They just seem to light up after that. They are more alert, more friendly. Just from the experience of Monday, the girls have been more engaging. Amazing to us. KAZ Edited by ZRabbits, Apr 30 2014, 03:40 AM.

For you Sidd, a couple more pics of Molly. Here she is when she first comes out. She's a bit tentative at first, sits in her favorite spot and does much observing first. Once that period is over, she starts to venture and explore. Just have to give our girl a bit of time. ![]() Here's a close up of that sweet face. ![]() She's come a long way our shy girl. Glad I didn't just give up on her. Worked with her and she blossomed into such a sweet adult. So wish I could see what kind of Mom she would be. Oh well. KAZ |

KAZ, I have a question for you. I am going to try and make a small bunny run. I have a dog pen with chain link and plenty of places to put it, did you guys bury any wire to keep them from digging out? Mine will always be supervised when in the run. Any other tips you could give me? Thanks. |

We buried the wire just to make sure they wouldn't dig. 6 inches. I wasn't so much concerned of the rabbits getting out. More concerned of something getting in. When they are out, they do dig near the fence line, but it's just a little divet to lay in for coolness. Willard really is our only digger and he's found a spot not near the fence line. Boy can he dig trenches. But to be perfectly honest, not one of the Z-Tribe really tries to escape. They truly the run and feel very safe and secure when out. Hidey holes for them to find security. They do use ours. We have pipes, planters, tubes, also we have branches of hard wood, fruit of course. Gives them something to enjoy. They are very curious once they feel secure in the run. It does take time for them to warm up. A couple minutes and then they are off. We have chimes in our bunny run. Automatic audio recognition is their most prevelant of their likes. A bunny is of sound. Plus it keeps the air borne predators away. Also a wind mill is on one corner post, that is fully functional. Doesn't pump anything but spins and turns. Another way to keep air borne predators away. Also use a large picnic umbrella. Real bright colors which keeps air borne predators at bay. Really is a good stimulation, mental and physical. Can definitely keep bucks in good condition and will keep them stimulated to breed. Also females can keep fit between breedings as well. It would be a win-win situation if you did go with a bunny run. I'm amazed at how stimulated and engaging after they have had their time out there. Several days after you still notice the affects. So much calmer and very relaxed. Just amazes me with just this little change. We found that fine line between good enough and over stimulated. We stay below the over stimulated. Too much for them to take in which sometimes will cause stress. You know your bunnies, you will know their sign of over stimulation. We just believe that exercise, sunshine and fresh air is an important health need for bunnies. They truly need to feel wild once in while, even though they are domesticated. They still have that wild hardwire that needs a bit of TLC once in while. I know it sounds funny and strange but it works here at the Z-Tribe. KAZ |

Have fallen in love with her all over again. Molly is just an absolute sweetheart. Just a little understanding on my part, and working with her, just knocked down that last wall holding back Molly's true personality. KAZ |
