I feel sooo bad. My cat grabbed one of the babies from my hands and ran with it. The baby was squealing. I chased the cat and pinned it down and forced it to let go of the baby. She was still alive but almost frozen in my hands. I couldn't fin any blood or anything but she's terrified. How do I help her?

How's the kit doing? She was probably terrified so that is why she was limp. You have to watch other animals. I trusted Jake to a certain point, but knew he was still an animal and had instincts. Cat was just doing what he/she has instincts for.

oh no! I hope your baby is OK! If you got it back quickly, probably more scared than hurt. cats have such a strong prey drive against small animals. some seem to do fine, but I cringe whenever I see people posting photos of cats with baby rabbits and cavies - you just never know.

I trust my dog with the rabbits, who has grown up with small animals her entire life, unless they have long tails. Rabbits don't, so she leaves them be. But cats... I would never let them anywhere near my rabbits.

I agree with the above. Sounds like the rabbit was very frightened. Let her have a break and she should be fine. I'm glad you were able to catch the cat and rescue the little one.

Awe, poor bun! I hope it's okay now.

My dogs are the ones I have to watch out for. They aren't usually nice to the rabbits. My mama cat loves the rabbits. She grooms them and stuff. lol My male cat is petrified of them. He runs away. xD Then the other female cat is a mixture of both... she's a little weird. lol

She was ok for a day afterwards. Found her dead in the nest box this morning. The tort baby. She was so beautiful. She was my keeper. I know she was just 14 says old, but I had a connection with her. Do you think she died fast and painless?

So, so sorry for your loss. Stress like that is really bad for rabbits and her being so young, could even have had internal injuries.

That's what I was thinking. No scabbing, scratches, wounds or anything in the outside. She had her eyes closed, so hopefully she died while she was sleeping. Her spine was stiff, but nothing else so she didn't die too long ago. Her siblings were by her. I'm hoping she died in peace, and not still terrified.

I had the 3 babies left out in my living room (pet free zone - no dogs, cats, or anything else). Watching 2 week old babies running around, cleaning themselves, trying to hop, is wonderful therapy. I couldn't help but smile. I got it on video and will upload it to youtube and post the link. They were very cute.

Glad you enjoyed your time with the kits. Had a ball myself watching my girls totter around and learn to use those legs.

Definitely good therapy!

Will definitely look forward to your video!

And learn to use the eyes.

They kept running into my leg, then moving an inch to the left and getting around my leg.

The babies are eating Sadie's poop. Not the cecotopes, but the regular poops. Is this normal?

Yep, kits eat poop. They are just learning from Mom as they as adults will eat poop too.
