Kits turned 5 weeks old yesterday! I took posed shots of them all today, and it looks like Jonah and (probably) Milo are true dwarfs, and Hugo and Silas are false dwarfs - feel free to add opinions on this! I guess if they don't change on me, I know which two I will be keeping ![]() Jonah ![]() Milo ![]() Hugo ![]() Silas ![]() |

Sooooo cute! They look promising. Jonah is my favorite, would love to see him grow up. I would agree that The first two look to be TD. I would guess that the second is a FD and the last one is hard to say. Silas is super cute too! LOVE the bone on him. |

I love Silas too! He actually was my pick over Jonah for a while - based on an early evaluation I had made - but then I took them out the other night for pics and realized how much I really liked Jonah. I would love to grow them both out, but since my main herd buck, Coby, is also broken and they are all so closely related, I really don't have the room for both. Thanks, Sidd, for sharing your thoughts on TD/FD. Always good to have another breeder's input! |

Oh yes, still keeping two - probably Jonah and Milo . In the long run, I plan to let one go as an older junior/young senior because I don't need two bucks from this litter, but I'd like to show them both this fall.

I agree with Jonah to grow out, but if I can be completely honest I would say that Milo is probably my least favorite out of the four. I know what I can see from the pictures, but does Milo have some nice attributes that I can't see here? He looks like quite a character! |

Absolutely - honesty is always appreciated! Sometimes, I get barn blind Here are new pics of Milo and Silas. Thoughts? The only thing that might not be as apparent in Milo in the pictures is that his ears are shorter than Si's. |

I'm glad that you don't mind my honesty. I was just a little curious if I was missing something. Of course, you know what you need in your barn better than I do. ![]() From the new pictures, I still prefer Silas over Milo overall. He has thinner (though it seems to still have good thickness... just comparing here) and longer bone than Silas does and looks like he won't have as much curvature or width to the head. His crown appears to be more slipped (which is giving him the appearance of longer ears, since they are farther back on the head) though they both have slipped crowns. Silas appears to have a more natural pose (suggesting to me that he may have the better head mount) and I like the looks of his body better. He just seems to be the more balanced buck in my opinion, from what I see here. Since you probably really don't need two more broken bucks (especially brothers), maybe the better decision would be to only keep one? Maybe grow the two of your choice out, then pick your favorite later, after some more maturing. You could use that cage space for a doe, perhaps?!

Thanks so much for the critique, Sidd. Having someone else's input really helps! I do plan to grow out two for now and then choose my favorite when they're old enough - probably as older juniors/young seniors, unless it becomes apparent earlier that one is much better. So yeah, I guess it didn't really matter much in the first place (when I was not wanting to keep two brokens) since I plan to only add one of them to the herd. Yes, definitely can use some cage space for does! I'm going to be looking for a new doe or two shortly, so I'm super excited for that! Crossing my fingers that I can maybe get a nice self black to add a *little* more color to my Hollands, lol!

Still loving the first two, especially Jonah. Lovely babies, I think you have some really nice buns there! ![]() Eve is my kind of doe. Absolutely love her. What a gorgeous brood doe! Especially for being on a litter/just coming off of one. Love that width and nice head for a broodie! |
