My new buck, Hershey, a Siamese Sable Holland is going to be a dad! I bred him early because all his parts are in place and he's a good size lol He is almost 5 months old. I bred him to my new solid tort doe: Palomar! Her sire was the top holland of 2013 and she has two legs. She has amazing type! I know she is a dilute carrier and was told she produces a lot of color so assuming she's carrying shaded. Anyways, I know I'm posting this soon but I remembered this go around to palpate lol and she's pregnant, no mistaking it! I feel around 4 kits and she's due October 30th. This will be the first litter under my new rabbitry ^_^ I'll get pics up of the couple soon :-D :bundance2:

Update: Here are the parents! Sire: Dragonfly's Hershey (Siamese Sable) x Blue Storm's Palomar (Solid Tort)

Her belly is getting big! Bday is Oct 31st on Halloween! I wouldn't be surprised if she had more than 4 kits ^_^

Last year I had a litter of two (a tort and a black - was pretty cool, since torts are kind of "orange-y"). I named them Superstition and Banshee. :D

I hope it all goes well!

sorry for double post, didn't want to do a new topic. So I noticed Palomar has lost a little weight, not major but not were I would like it. She gets free fed, hay daily and oats about every other day or so. I was wondering, what else can I give her to help? She has 5 days left, babies are growing on track and tonight I could feel them move.

not unusual for does to go 'off feed' the last few days. could go every day on the oats if it will tempt her ... or switch the hay to an alfalfa to add calcium (good for growing baby bones and milk production -- as well as helping prevent pregnancy toxemia).

yeah, I'll get some alfalfa today ^_^ She's been eating really well, I think she's got a large litter in her lol I usually feed once a day but I'm going to up that to twice today with her. So funny, I have Palomar who needs to gain weight then I just got a new doe this weekend named Savannah who's 3 1/2 yrs old and needs to loose a little weight lol Savannah is a broken blue doe, out of my favorite breeder. He said she's one of his most important does, genetic wise, so I'm excited!

Is she eating well? I agree with Neubunny on oats every day and alfalfa hay.
