Here they are at 8 days old today :) Does the Siamese sable still look like one or a seal? It's gotten really dark, in person you can see the legs etc are darker, just hard to see in pics.

All three together! Black kit is the smallest

Is this what they are talking about with Siamese Sable kits having a "shine" to them?

I would actually say that it's a seal now - whoops. My bad, I didn't realize that it was so young in those first pics. I had a seal once and mistook it for a SS the first day too. Seems that it takes a day or two for them to darken up. The sable point is so cute, I want shaded babies again! :wubz:

I wouldn't mind if it's a seal :) As long as it has good type, I'm happy! Yeah I'm in love with the sable point, have my fingers crossed!

awesome! I've never seen a seal at shows or anything so that's awesome! That must mean that Palomar's hidden C gene is shaded correct?

awesome! Here they are at 12 days old, seal kit's eyes are open and I decided to name it Kona after the dark coffee beans from Hawaii and the black will be Spook (that can go for boy or girl you think?). :) Not sure about the sable point yet, probably pick out a boy and a girl name. I'm loving the size of the heads on the seal and sable so far! Body color on Kona is starting to lighten up a bit, points are clearer to see however you can't really see that in the pictures below lol. Kona is already starting to explore the nest box!

I'm loving the nice clean coat to the sable point, now hopefully it'll have good type lol

Spook is so small compared to the other two lol

Kona is a busy kit!

Kona looks almost as dark as Spook but in real life, he/she is lightening up a bit ^_^ Really neat to see how this color develops!

yeah no kidding but it's growing and doing great! I wonder why some are half the size? Maybe it'll be just a smaller adult.

I've had some that were just strangely small as well. I've had some runts, but I usually call them "runts" because they're small but not a peanut and they usually fade. For the ones that are just really tiny... not sure what the deal is! I never keep 'em though, hehe. Your other two look really chunky.

yeah it really is odd. The black kit, Spook, is doing great so far ^_^ It's small but good weight and activity. I really love the heads on the other two! So far everyone is doing great with the recent cold weather we are having.

They're so cute! Thanks for sharing the pictures.

I've had a couple of those small kits too, not sure what the deal is but they grew up just fine!

yeah my guess is some kits get a head start while in the womb or if it's a decent size litter, some get more nutrition maybe than others. Everyone is doing great, all eyes are open! They have been handling the cold very well, been dropping down in the 20s at night. I have a metal shed they are in and it's got a blanket of blackberry bushes around the sides and roof which is working to my advantage. It insulates it so the water bottles are only 50% frozen and still drip water while in the summer it provides shade. ^_^ And of course all the blackberries I want in late summer!
