Here they are at 3 weeks old! I'm pretty sure on gender: Sable point is a buck (most likely) named Ash, Seal is a doe (for sure) named Kona and black is a buck (for sure) named Spook of course! I LOVE LOVE this litter! This has to be the best litter I've produce yet. I hope their are no fuzzy babies. I did ask the breeder of the sire if they produce fuzzies often and they said they rarely produce fuzzies. I have my fingers crossed Hershey is not a carrier. The dam Palomar does come out of a line that does produce fuzzies so if anything the kits could possibly carry the gene. I have yet *knock on wood* to produce a fuzzy kit, but at about what age do you start to notice they are going to be a fuzzy? What do you watch out for?

Here they are!!

Kona wanted to say "hello!"

Then Ash decided to say hello as well ^_^

Random picture of Ash's body lol

Ash and Kona are extremely friendly! So is Spook but he kind of likes to do his own thing for now lol
Posted Image

baby Spook! He is getting bigger and growing just as nice as his bigger siblings! He can hold his own!
Posted Image

Ugh Kona's head is to die for!
Posted Image

Ash has the most massive bone out of the three and his color is so clean!

Spook doing his "own thing" taking a break from binkying around the cage!

Thanks! I already see a big difference in the build of these kits compared to past litters. My other ones I thought were good type but wouldn't turn out as nice. :) Hopefully I'll have at least one good kit out of the bunch :)

Adorable! Love those little pudgey faces!

Haven't had fuzzies, but on the angoras and jersey woolies, the baby coat is super soft with almost no guard hair. And from what I've heard, fuzzy dwarfs (Netherlands) tend to be even softer than the normal Jerseys! So I would think you would be able to tell fuzzies almost as soon as the eyes are open - by 4 weeks at the latest.

Kits are doing great! 4 1/2 weeks old! Confirmed on genders: 2 bucks (Spook & Ash) and one doe (Kona)! Went over them today. Kona has a great head, ear, shoulders, and bone are all coming along great, she also sits up for me. What I don't like is her pinched HQ :( When she is posed properly, her rear legs stick out from the sides instead of laying underneath the hips. Her legs also V out, this comes from Hershey. I'm a bit bummed as I wanted to keep a doe but I don't want to set pinched HQ in my line. I know every line has something that needs work but pinched HQ isn't one I want. Ash is nice, I really love him all over so far. Trying not to be "barn" blind to him, but at 4 weeks old everything looks on track.. I'll keep him to see how he matures out and what might pop up. If he turns out nicely, then I'll breed him to his mom. Spook is also doing good, still small but healthy. The sire Hershey is a small type buck so I think Spook is following in the same direction. He might have a slight pinched HQ to, not as pronounced as Kona, but everyone has great bone/shoulders/heads/chests. I think Spook might also have a tight crown but we'll wait and see. He might be worth growing out a bit to. Either way I'm only keeping one buck. I do like what I see at this age and look forward to see how they turn out!

Here are some blurry pictures LOL

sorry for the lack of updates! Computers hard drive then graphics card went bad, replaced the hard drive and waiting for the graphics card :-P limited to my cell phone for now. Anyways, everyone is doing great! I will be selling Kona as a brood doe. I love everything about her besides her pinched hindquarters, I don't want to breed her to her sire who has the same issue nor do I want to pass that along. So it's between Ash the sable point buck or Spook the black runt. I'm really torn, I love Ash's bone and head/ear and clean color however he is slightly pinched and seems to have a hard time holding his head up which makes me wonder about his head placement. As far as Spook goes, he is a really, really nicely balanced buck. Great head/ear/bone/shoulders/and not pinched, he is just small, going to be a small buck. I do have a genetics question about Spook: So he is black: aa,B_,C_, Ee etc...his sire a Siamese Sable most likely (95% sure) has Rew as hidden C gene. Dam is tort with sable point as hidden C gene (I assume this because she produced Seal with the sire). So my question is, since mom threw her C gene, that means Spook's hidden C gene must be his sire's hidden C correct?

For now because I have the space, I'll grow out both boys until week 14ish then decide which one will go.
