Thanks! I really apologize for the lack of pictures, I sprained my right arm, then lost two of the kits. The remaining three are doing great though! I'm currently on vacation right now but will post updated pics shortly after I get back. I think I might redo this post with another color litter... probably just edit this one? Either way Neubunny I will still take the best pictures and add them to the color section (never knew we had that sub group lol). |

Thanks! Looks like the mostly white kit is actually a very clean blue point! His (he is a buck) eyes are not red but a light blue/gray with ruby cast to them! I will sell him but it confirms both parents carry dilute! The Siamese Sable kit is a buck as well!! I'll grow him out and have to choose between him or Mocha. Although this little Siamese Sable buck has head tilt so I will need to treat him for it. The remaining seal kit is a little doe. I need a good show type doe so I might grow her out if she is nice. I will get updated pics this week! Just got back from vacation and lots to do today and tomorrow lol. I will also add pictures to the color sub group for the blue point! |

Ok here are two of the three kits at almost 4 weeks old! It seems one thing after another! So the little seal doe kit, when her eyes where supposed to open up, one of them was still closed. It finally opened up but a day later it was closed again.. it had some dry matted fur around the eye. I cleaned it up and noticed that the clear membrane was not going back like it should. Before I left for vacation, the injured (?) eye was fine. Got back and today it was all matted up again. I cleaned it out, a little puss was there, and along with some of her fur, her eye lashes seem to have been sealed shut in her eye Checked on her this evening and the eye looks pretty swollen.. but I did mess with it, flushed it out etc. Membrane is still not going back, she could blink with the eye lid.. not sure on sight yet.. can't see the actual eye because the membrane is in the way but I think she probably has an eye spot. Anyways, no pic of her, didn't want to stress her out. Gonna keep her eye open and hopefully it'll heal enough she can be petted out.Anyways.. so I've named the white kit: Jasper! Some people are saying he is a very clean blue point while others are now saying possible lilac point or something like that?? I do know that the gray fur that is coming in is very very light. Let me know what you think! The Siamese Sable buck is named Koda and I really like him! Something about his head is so nice and his little body! His one ear is sticking straight up (Mocha's did the same thing and he had wry neck) and his head is slightly tilted.. I'm starting to wonder if it is the next box bedding I'm using.. it has some really small pine shavings.. almost like dust and I'm thinking maybe it's getting in their ears? I'll switch it out to something different. Koda! ![]() ![]() Jasper! ![]() ![]()

Super cute! Is there any chocolate in the background? Looks like a super clean blue point to me, but with the lack of points it's hard to tell. |

interesting you bring that up, I have a couple of people on Facebook Holland Lop group ask the same question, someone even suggested Lilac... is it possible to have a chocolate or even lilac vs of sable point? That would be roughly: aa,bb,c(chl)c(chl),dd,ee etc.. correct? No chocolate in background but that doesn't really mean anything.. could have been hiding for many generations. Their are some chocolate breeders around in my area. All shaded in both parent's background (torts, sables, rew, etc). Well, I'll have to see how the color develops over time I guess. |

With the eyes blue-grey rather than red, he is more likely a smoke pearl point (aaB-chl-ddee) [in angoras for some reason we just call them a light smoke pearl, prehaps other breeds call them blue point?] than a true blue pointed (aaB-ch-ddE-). Pointed (ch) always have red eyes. The chocolate gene could give you the lilac version -- for angoras that would be lilac pearl (aabbchl-ddee) - those would be really pale and I find (especially when babies) the eye color tends to be more lavendar than blue (really strong ruby cast from bb and chl genes). I just was out in the rabbit shed this morning, now that I am looking for it, I can't really see a ruby cast on his eyes but I'll keep checking. He is just so light in color. What is odd is you can easily see his colored tail.. however the color on his ears and just above his nose are so hard to make out. I do have a mystery though on my hands. As you know Mocha had head tilt and oddly enough he had one ear always straight up in the air. I treated him and he greatly improved but his ear is still straight up in the air and I "think" I noticed a slight head tilt but in the opposite direction (his left ear is straight up but head kind of tilts to the right). I'm wondering if having the ear straight up is causing slight tilt. Now the odd thing is: Koda (Silvia's siamese sable kit) has the exact same thing. He does have head tilt but it is minor (much more minor than Mocha had) and same left ear straight up in the air! lol Again, not sure if head tilt is because of the weight of the ear sticking straight up and not down? Just seems odd... both Siamese Sables, both with the same thing? I'm wondering if it is just breeding... Hershey is the sire to both and he has a slight tight crown. I don't remember ears sticking straight up with head tilt? |

How odd. Only thing I can think of that MIGHT explain both would be an inner ear infection. But as you note, could be something odd in the genetics for ear control, with the tilt secondary. |

Just a quick update: Mocha does not have an ear infection after all! His ear is nice and clean. Over the weekend with the warm weather we just have had, that one silly ear has finally flopped down! His ears are slightly folded.. the base of the ears are a little narrow but I do like the rest of him. It'll come down between keeping Mocha or Koda It's good to have options!
