This posting is simply a recording of a gene interaction I have become all too familiar with from crossbreeding different color genotypes of rabbits, many here have disputed my past findings of Aa_e genotypes having their own distinctive tort-like pattern on the flanks from a form of typical codominance of gene interactions which consistently has repeated itself to me with different breeds and bloodlines. I particularly have noted this here again because my new litter from a pearl lop(Aaee) and a tricolor dutch(aaCCeje repeated the pattern, this Aa_e pattern interaction was clearly distinguishable on the kit's side flanks even when the kits had a dutch gene along with ej.(All kits carried a C gene from the father, one tort kit did not seem to show any sign of ej and was only mildly effected by the dutch gene) Another note to make here is that the pearl lop mother Aacchd_ee had displayed the same Aa_e interaction with cold seasonal change...overall appearance of marking looked sort like a reversed sallander shaded pattern on a white rabbit suggesting to me Aa with cchd and e can and will differ for seasonal shading patterns The Newest Litter, So far I have only seen 1 chinchilla kit among my newest litter(from a chinchilla astrex rex buck and a magpie flemish doe) with the Aa_e pattern mentioned. At this point I am unable to identify any kind of Aa_e patterns among the magpie colored kits of this newest litter but they are also still very young(3 weeks tomorrow) =) |
