Hello Im back again after a while. I have a lilac doe out of a blue buck that carries chocolate and harlequin (aaBbC_ddEej) and a chocolate dam (aabbC_DdEE). There is no tort in her background. Because i dont want harlequin in my lutino lines, i got a tort buck and did a test breeding with the lilac doe. He was sold to me as a lilac tort buck called a "seperator", but he looked more like a blue than a lilac and he proved himself to be blue tort too. He sired black with a chocolate doe, so thats how i know he is blue based tort. Anyway, I got 3 kits from the lilac and the blue tort, 2 are lilac and other is a light creme color.. must be lilac harlequin right? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Kit is either a 'torted' lilac harlequin - aabbC-ddeje or a lilac tort aabbC-ddee. Given what you know about the background, the harlequin (eje) is far more likely. The two can be really hard to tell apart, but I think appearance is also more consistent with the torted harlequin because I think I see some lilac coming up onto his back. |
