Ok I need to make some cuts. I want every kid that shows with me to have the breed they want. I want to do 2 breeds so I need help in chooseing my breeds.

Kids:
Dominique (daughter) Himalayan 10 holes
Gabrielle (daughter) English spot 6 holes
Dylan (son) English angora 8 holes
Stephaine (friend) Polish 8 holes
Taylor (friend) Mini rex 4 holes

Now that leaves me
English lops
satin angora
Jersey wooly

I was talking to my english lop friend and she is having so much truble selling her kits and I now have 8 to sell. Some of the breeders that show I do not like too much and they make showing so not fun for me. I been having the kids show them for me in youth. If it don't pick up soon my friend is selling out and she is the only reason I still have Elops.

I only have 2 satin a red buck and a rew doe. I have not even shown them yet.

I sold out of my Jersey woolys but I can always get back into it fast as there are very nice breeders. My fav group is the Shaded and broken shaded.

Ohhh what to do...

the only thing you can do is pick the 2 that steal your heart the most. your satin angoras take more space/bigger cages as does your Elops. your jersey woolies and angoras take more time to groom. so what ever you have time for and space for and love for is what you need to pick

I dunno, SA's are pretty kick butt! :P

But in all honesty, pick whatever breeds you enjoy owning, breeding, and exhibiting the most. It's no fun to show buns if you don't enjoy the breed itself, or sometimes even the folks in the breed around you. (Which sounds petty, but it happens! Sometimes folks just don't click and it can make shows a living hell if you're trying to be social with those that own the same breed.)

Personally I'd go with JW and SA, but I am completely biased. :P

They show English Spots in FL? Where was I when they started this? Who's Taylor? Oh boy, I'm confused.

I have to say, there is nothing like showing with the JW people. Even the judges know it. Jeff Albright made a comment about it at the last show.

They show Satin Angoras too? When did you get them? Oh boy, I'm in a bubble.

Do what I did... I put all the breeds in a hat that I really liked and drew two breeds to start with. I had a hard time deciding what breeds to get back into after College. Since I had so many breeds as a teenager. I did this 5 years ago. My first pick out of the hat was English Angoras, and second pick out of the hat was Giant Angoras.

I know not the best advice, but hey it worked for me. I am in the top of most of my Sweepstakes in each breed.

If you don't like the outcome of the method Melissa said, then you know that your heart isn't with one of those breeds.

So true kristina. I just put so much time and money into my english lops and it is just not fun for me anymore. I don't even want to show with them. Some people have made it so...... you know and I hate that feeling. I am not the only one my friend said she might quit too as we can not compeite with some of the price people are putting out there. Like $20 or $40 Ours are worth way more than that from stock we hand chose from out of state. It just bothers me you know.

Anyway I got a breeding pair of satins from Staci when I got the polish at that last past show I went too. I breed them so I have some kits for the fair. Taylor is a boy that stephanie is dateing and he wanted to try showing bunnies. So I gave him my mini rex or I would have sold out of them. I still have a few to sell her is only getting the breeding trio and 1 grow out holes to show. If he don't like them then I sell them easy as that.

If you want woolies, you could wait till convention. There are lots of woolies that are for sale from breeders you would only see at the big shows, and then there's the auction on one of the last days of the show. That's where the fun is.

I understand what you mean about the people. It's just not fun if the breeders aren't fun. That's why I love the wooly people.

Stick with whatever breeds you love best. :) I love both my breeds and wouldn't trade them for anything else! It's no fun showing when the other breeders don't like you. :/ Let us know what you decide!!! If it helps....Woolies are awesome...so everyone should do them!!!

Well we all know its not fun to show rabbits with people that arent fun. I understand how you are with the price thing you pay a lot of them and you need to get something back so maybe that wouldnt be the breed as you cant get what you deserve when someone else is selling them for half the price you are asking for. And there you have one the breeds you wanna do out of the picture. And the other breed you said is hard to get rid of the babies maybe those should be out of the picture because it can be very stressful when you are stuck with babies and juniors and are doing nuthing good for you yet you cant get rid of them. And all they are doing is taking up space and eating feed.
