I want to take some cute pictures of my little sister and the rabbits. I need some ideas though of what would be cute and how to go about it. I have an ok camera, it is a digital but quite a good one. |

I have a few suggestion (BTW this is Devon not Lauren) -For portraits I would suggest finding a backdrop that is not involved or it will take away from the subject. A solid colour works best or a textured background however if you don't have any, natural backgrounds are cute like fields, forests etc as long as there are not 6 million things occurring. -Make you subject stand out, if you use any props make sure they don't over power your subject or look out of place. Flowers are always cute to have with rabbits and kids but three flower can go a long ways skip the bouquet. Don't shoot straight on, experiment with angles it adds a bit of interest. Get down to the level of your subject for kids and small animals shooting down isn't a flattering angle. For portraits I really like shooting into the sun and using the flash it makes your subject really stand out and gives you a really good bokeh. Always be conscious of the lighting and shadows you can think you just took a really good picture then load it and find a shadow is blocking half the face. Do not over process especially do not over saturate. Processing can create a "mood" if used correctly. Natural pictures are much cuter then set up photos. If you do a close up don't cut anyone's body parts off at a joint it makes the picture look unbalanced. I'm really big on trying to capture the eyes because I think they add an extra little something to pictures. Natural framing is a really good way to draw in the eye too Here are some examples to show what I'm blathering on about: Background: It's textured and matures the style of the picture without standing out too much. This is my little sister. ![]() Angle: This could have been a boring picture. ![]() Processing: Adding mood without being over powering, this picture looked weird with all the blazing greens that were in it before. ![]() Framing: The exercise pen adds a frame, this is also a "candid" completely unplanned. ![]() I like to capture the eyes, especially on animals

I'm also going to mention, I always use a flash for portraits whether they're human or animals and despite how sunny it is. I like the contrast it gives. Ohh and I never use the correct white balance, when it's sunny I use the cloudy white balance, when it's cloudy I use the shade white balance. It adds warmth too the pictures. Also here is a link to another portrait picture I took (I don't feel like re-sizing it to fit into this screen) PICTURE Also if you're not sure how to do touch ups, I'd be more then happy to do them for you
