I Had mentioned getting another breed to just play with since getting rid of my herd of harlies =(. I had thought about getting Beverens when I was just starting back up into rabbits, but went with the harlequins instead. I picked up a trio yesterday, and so here are a few picsys! Unfortunatly they're a bit pee covered, but they'll probably be coming in for baths today so i can try to get it scrubbed off. Henry the buck: ![]() Doe One ![]() Doe Two who refused to even pretend to remotely pose for me ![]() Her pretty face though: ![]() |

the cages all the meat buns were in looked like 18x24. The cages just looked smaller then my 24x24, that I have for the smaller stuff here....and I think thats why they are as bad as they are. The buck is DEF a sprayer. The girl that was with me, he got her, and the woman selling them he sprayed her good. lol. So he is an ass. She said the one doe would pee and then rub her butt in it..... I think its partly the size of the cage as well. Henry is DEF getting a cage clear away from all the other rabbits though =p |

It does make a difference all my rabbits without urine guards are clean, the ones with urine guards are disgusting, and those disgusting rabbits that are moved from cages with urine guards to no urine guards become clean, but the walls get dirty fast, you can't win lol |

thankfully mine are outside, and its easy to spray the buildings off. Once we repaint the one I had planned to get plastic to put against the wood so when they pee its just the plastic and not the wood lol. I've one hutch that can be moved, and he's getting put in solitary confinement asap |

You're asking a truely bad person this question. Every word is pronounced lazily around here.... I've said Bev-rin..... haven't been corrected yet, and I can't remember what Kattie called them when i talked to her before. Lemme ask my friend who got them. She's a grammar freak. ... but reading back over your post, have def not heard them called that. Alright... Andrea said she says: "Bev-urr-en..?" Sooo with mine you've got the Southern Ohio vs and with her you've gotten the Northern lol Edited by GorbyJobRabbits, Sep 19 2011, 02:14 PM.

I've always wondered how to say it too. While we're talking about how to say breeds, how do you say hotot? Because I've heard "hoe-tote" and "Hot-ot" which is it?

The buck needs his front feet posed under his eyes. He has a nice rise in the hindquarter but it falls slightly flat over the rump, and his shoulders are too flat to really balance him out, but if posed right with his front feet that may help him more with the shoulders. He looks to be like an "older" style of Beveren. Where their shoulders were always super flat with a huge hindquarter. Doe one has better shoulders. Flat over the hindquarter. Would like to see a better rise over her shoulders and continuing over the middle of her back. I like the buck's hindquarter better and the doe's shoulders better, so when crossing those two it may balance them out nicely. |

The bucks hindquarter was the one thing they were all concerend about and complained about. he did reallly good at the mini convention... Now to get his dirty butt cleaned up. I'll try to get him posed back up tomorrow. The 3 of them were a pain and absolutely refused to want to pose. I'm only doing one cross with him, the does are sisters, and he's a son, so WAYYYY too close for my tastes. But the lady made a great deal that I couldn't pass, and I reallly wanted Riley lines before and had to jump. and thank you thank you thank you for your comments and help =) |

If you want some nice lines, get some from Kim Calloway. He is the top Beveren breeder in the US. I know the "being a pain and not wanting to pose!" Which makes them look really worse then they actually are. Are you planning on just doing BEWs or getting another color? |
