Oh! That makes sense, because hotot is french right? So you wouldn't pronouce the T on the end.

When my sister first started looking for Hotots, she pronounced them Hot-Tot.  The correct pronunciation is Ho-Toe.

Me too, I'm glad I'm not the only one. At least I haven't said it out loud, that would have been embarrassing.

I know a breeder who gets seriously bent all out of shape when people mispronounce Hotot she's like how hard is it?! HO-TOE...

I usually want to say you always mispronounce all the Argente Breeds.

While we're talking about how to say breeds, how do you say hotot? Because I've heard "hoe-tote" and "Hot-ot" which is it?
I've always been told it's pronounced "Oh-Toe."
I also recently picked up some Beverens too (and I'm the real reason why Gorby got hers, lol). I got mine from Kim Calloway in Indiana.

Here are my Blues: (and keep in mind that these guys are NOT even remotely close to being posed, need to work with them on that!)

I've also heard "Ho-toe" for Hotots. Weird, eh?

Crystal, I'm very happy you got Beverens, and they're gorgeous. However, you're getting spanked for selling the Harlies. My girls better get good homes, or else!

It wasn't my plan to do that. I had debated and debated. And I'm just tired of dealing with all their issues. I've done nothing but feel bad about it. But I'm tired of wasting money and time and energy for nothing.

Grats on the Beverens, you two! They are such an interesting breed. :)

I don't blame you for a second for moving on from Harlies. I love them, but they have major issues. I totally agree with ya.

Best of luck with the new stock!

I find they're nothing but a health hazard. No one with them culls, every time I turned my back one of them was sneezing and snotting. My other breeds were right out there with them and nothing from them. and all the ones I had seem to have lost the motherhood part of the brain.

and then, I wanted a more meaty breed. The harlie, if it makes weight is flabby as can be, if it doesnt, and has a somewhat descent type, its like its body is hallow.

Champagnes are the best meat breed I've ever seen. I've yet to see a cal or NZ dress out better.

I can't wait at all to get my first litter. Just looking at the doe out here who is just hitting 10 weeks, she looks like a potroast.

The same reasons for me selling my Harlies as well. That and I'm tired of the drama and cheating going on with other breeders.. but that's not a public discussion at all.
