Okay, so there's a long story behind why I've got these guys again......A lady I sold to couldn't keep all her rabbits due to moving so I wen't over and took home all the reds. Now I'm doing this to myself: :bonk: Anyway If you guys could tell me what you think of them that would be great. :)

Cherry Bomb and Red Hot are probably the nicer ones. Aerosmith looks pinched and undercut. Donkey is flat over the hindquarter.

I'd like to see more depth on all of them, the ears don't balance.

Red is a very hard color to do, so I commend you on it! I briefly "did" reds while I had satins and they just had nothing going for them back then so I got out of them to focus on my other colors, namely every other color except Cal... lol

I really like Red Hot, she could use a little more depth to balance but she has a pretty topline. She is my favorite! :)

Thanks. :) These guys are from my oldddd lines from back when I started with Reds.

The Jr. Does are both pinched in their HQ when you pose them up and took at the side/top. Aerosmith is not undercut, he maybe a little pinched though. Donkey does have a Flat Spot on his HQ.

I like Donkey and Red Hot, although Cherry Bomb isn't a bad one, either.

Donkey and Red Hot develop very well into the rump. Can't really comment on their color, as I can't tell much about it from the pics. As stated previously in this and other threads, reds can be a difficult color to work with. I think that's true in nearly any breed.

To be honest I'm surprised at how clean their color is. Cherry Bomb and Red Hot have a bunch of ear lacing, but their body color is pretty clean, not bad for being out of a Broken Black. I think Aerosmith has the worst type out of them all....but I got him to work on Broken Reds because he carries Broken, I plan on selling him after I get some nice ones out of him. :)

Bella, I really wish you had been in Bloomington, IL back in late August. There was an exhibitor in attendance who had some red mini rex with absolutely spectacular color and pretty good type as well, and they seemed quite willing to sell a few of them (I'll admit that I actually considered making an offer, which is odd for me being a Satin breeder).

Color is something any exhibitor who wishes to raise reds will want to pay particular attention to, as it is what draws the most attention, and fair or unfair, it is what ultimately they're judged by. I think that's particularly true of reds, whether they be NZ, Satins, Rex/MiniRex, or anything else. It's a color which draws immediate attention.

Glass and Red Pepper have some nice color! You should be breeding those two like crazy. You need to find better lighting outside to really capture their color. or in the house someplace. :P Out of these guys I would say that I like Cherry Bomb and Red Hot the best.
