So I know this is kind of weird to post about, but its been bugging me all day.

Three years ago I was forced to sell my horse. I have known and ridden her for as long as I can remember. I haven't seen her in 2 years and I don't even know where she is. She should be 17 years old in May. I miss her terribly and I have had depression ever since she was sold.

Last night I had a dream about her. It was almost seemed like she was conforting me some how. We were in this wide open field. There was tall grass as far as I could see. It was warm probably around 60-70 degrees. I was on her bareback. She started to lope and her long mane was brushing against my face (one of my favorite feelings I miss so much). She just kept loping until I woke up. It was so peaceful.
I almost felt like crying after I woke up. It felt so real I wanted to go back where I could see her again. It brings me to tears just to type about it. Some people say there is no such thing as a true bond between humans and animals, that they just want food from you, thats all. I could prove that wrong if I still had my horse. She was the best mare. I miss her so much it makes me ache.
Thats all I really have to say. Thanks for reading.
I love you May!

Aw I'm sorry. I know how real dreams can be. I had a dream two days ago that was very real. I laid in bed for another hour after I woke up just continuing the story in my head, and then it stuck with me all day.

There are good things ahead, girl. I mean that. :)

I just worry because I keep thinking maybe the dream was her comforting me. When I say that I mean I feel like it means she died and she knows how much I miss her and she wants to comfort me. I don't know. It was just so peaceful and comforting. It was so real! She felt the same, she loped the same, her mane tickling my face felt the same...... it was just the way it used to be.
If she is still alive, she better be being treated like she deserves. She is such an angel and she deserves to be treated as such. They better know how much that horse means to someone.

Awww, that's so sweet. I have dreams similar to that sometimes. Once I had a dream where all of my favourite rabbits were in my rabbitry again, Little Jerry, George, Raven, Tanya, Lola, Smokey II, Prince etc. and although it made me sad, it also made me happy because it was like I got to relive the good times again :)

Aww, I have dreams like that about a horse I had and still have a bond with, and he wasn't even mine. The owners traded him for a crabby mare :( That was 3 years ago, and I haven't seen him once since then..

Like Bumper said, there are good things ahead

haha thats J-R. He is sweet but he is soooo lazy. So hard to get him moving. He is a beginner level horse. He isn't mine, I ride him for someone every April-June in a horse training show. ;)

I had a dream like this when my sister's dog died :( I was so happy in the dream and Rainey was so happy and when I woke up I was heart broken.

Was she registered? If so you can call APHA and they can give you the info on her last known owner, provided they sent in the transfer papers. I just got an interested e-mail from the woman that was the OB of my fillies sire. She is going to send me some pictures of him since I never got to see him. :)

I totally understand what your saying about the bond! My first mare was a rescue I got from a guy who rescued her then was giving horses away to 4-H kids. I got her as a yearling and he was my best friend! My aunt has her now, I had to let her go when I had my son. I made sure I wasn't home when they came to get her because I could't handle it...when I got home and that pasture was empty it was the worst feeling in the world...felt like someone ripped my heart right out of my chest. :( I'm lucky enough to know where she is and that she is spoiled ROTTEN!Lol. It took me 2 years before I could go and see her...I felt so bad and was afraid she wouldn't remember me. As soon as I walked up to the fence she came a running, bucking and whinnying at me! I was so relived she remembered me, we went for a ride and she was on her best behavior for me! I hope you can find your mare to make sure she is okay! :)

I don't know if they sent the transfer papers. But I DO know she was registered. I used to get her papers out and look at them all the time when I was little.

Is there any way I could search for her online? I have a feeling APHA won't give me location info. in fear I might steal her...... Which doesn't sound like such a bad idea....... hmmm....... jk!!

If she is registered they will give you that name of who owns her now as long as the papers were transferred. :) I just did some looking of my own to find the sire of my filly, It was AQHA, but APHA does it as well. :) Good Luck!!!!!
