We went to Canadian Tire to buy a new padlock for the rabbitry (since dummy locking is not fool proof  )

As soon as we walked in the door in like a beam of light with music playing was the seed display

I couldn't help myself, despite having corn, lettuce, and tomato seeds already I bought even more seeds!

2 packets of 5 pepper varieties, one packet of beets, one packet of cantaloupe, 1 packet of ground cherries, and a shaky jar of seeds for my wild flower garden at the back, and a Grow your own monster kit (giant pumpkins) I couldn't help myself it was adorable!

And I'm not even halfway down the seed buying. I still need radishes, and cucumbers, and peas, and beans, and watermelon, and eggplant, and broccoli annd blueberries and strawberries. I need to expand my gardens :helpme:

What is everyone else planting this year?

I've been looking at some stuff to grow. Not sure where I want to do it though, or even which ones to grow.

Every time I look at seed websites I add something else to my list. It's going to be enormous by the time I actually get to planting

We never try vegetables. Lol ok... Tomato plants sometimes... They never do well. XD

We tried a flower garden... The first few years were great but the deer always bite off the buds right before they bloom! If we keep a close eye, we have white, yellow and orange lillies. They havent been blooming as nicely the last few years. The greenery is doing great. It's the kind that spreads out over time... It's growing beyond the garden and into the lawn. Lol we have two Peony bushes too. One red and One pink. They always look gorgeous. That's my favorite flower. :) we planted a weeping cherry tree last October for my grandpa who died so I hope that blooms nicely. I always try wild flowers too. We get really cute little purple, white and yellow flowers. :) not many... Gotta keep trying. Lol

There is a community garden thing that's opening in the warmer weather. I think our 4-H club might try some vegetables. :)

Haven't gardened seriously in a couple years -- woodchucks and deer. But we are going to get serious again this year -- fencing a big area for llamas/goats/etc so going to fence the garden area too.

Big area for hay (ordered timothy/orchard grass mix). Hubby's been buying the rest - not sure what all he has other than carrots, beets, and 'salad'. Hoping to be able to feed the guinea pigs entirely from the garden over the summer.

My mom and I have been talking about planting a couple things this year.. our yard is no good, so we're going to try planting a few small things in planters.

all you'll have ground cherries coming out of your ears for YEARS now. But boy...they are good aren't they? :)

I'm going to be looking through my seeds soon and seeing what I need. Should get on the ordering soon enough...

last year I grew potato leafed tomatoes and they grew well. The giant china's were horrid, the black china's were good - more purple than black though, yellow cucs that were just yummy, and this odd lettuce I haven't been able to find that was heirloom - slightly bitter but not like argula. the rabbits devoured it whenever it came close to them.

I'll do the standard beans/peas/carrots by the bucketload. making a weed garden for the bunnies that I'll be scattering lettuce and carrot see in as well. Corn, potatoes, tomatoes (not as many as last year), lettuces, yellow cucs if I can find them again, and NO PUMPKIN or SQUASH...takes over the world and don't want that. Ground cherries will plant themselves again. I'll get random corn and sunflowers from what the rabbits missed over the winter. and I don't know.. brussel sprouts...might try purple cabbage this year (hubby likes).

and we'll see what else tickles my fancy.

My family and I usually do a pretty big garden every year. Usually we plant Lettuce, Cucumbers, Watermelon, Tomatoes, Green Beans, tons of Peppers, and a bunch of other stuff I can't think of right now! We did Blueberries and Corn last year too.
