good luck searching. It's really hard around here to find any AFLs other than broken torts! If our doe had 'taken' (either of the last times we tried) we might have one (lol broken tort x lilac should give black and broken black). But she was due last Wednesday and no sign of kits again. Rebreeding her in a couple weeks (going to do a round of sulmet first) so if you don't have luck now, check back in a couple months.

Are you on facebook? There are A LOT of great breeders in Ohio. And while tort isn't a great color, but to get quality you may have to deal with tort. And fuzzies arn't really cheap. I've one really nice buck left for sale, but he's a tort. Tabatha Corbin is someone I would HIGHLY recommend getting from, she is Garfuzlops on here. She's in NW ohio. NE ohio has Jake Durda who has been on the tops of the youth breeders for years. Breeders are easy to find just gots to know where to look.

If you're on FB lemme know. I'll give a link to a fuzzy group.

While I agree tort/broken tort are the most plentiful, I purchased and produced many good quality sable pt and black fuzzies. I currently have only 4 in my herd.. wait, 5, added a broken tort buck just yesterday (he's really young and may not make the final cut, but I decided to take a gamble.. Hmm.. I think we found his name! lol). Anyway, black shouldn't be to hard to find, if you are on facebook look for the American Fuzzy Lops for sale page.

As for being expensive, I have spent up to $200 on a single fuzzy buck (best buy ever) but typically spend $75 ish on nice fuzzies, and you can get decent fuzzies for $40-$50 or even less sometimes. I spent $300 on a Holland buck once. When I realized that was cheap, I switched breeds - lol.

I have one c: He is not old enough to leave yet however, and I live in CA. I don't know much about AFL as it was a genetic miss-hap, so I don't know his quality, but he is a pretty good holland.
