I am so upset right now. I'm crying and just wanna bang my head against a wall and scream. I went to see my chickens today.... I'm missing 13+ Russian Orloffs and my black Silkie hen. I've looked everywhere and can't find anything, no signs of them. My guess is an opossum is eating them or someone took them. I only have 7 Russian Orloffs, 1 Silkie, and 4 Polish left. Not counting the Americaunas, Rhode Island Red, etc. in the other building. My Orloffs were my absolute favorite and they're on the critical watch list, less than 500 breeding animals in the USA. I feel sick to my stomach.

Sorry for the complaining but I feel horrible. :mercy:

14 birds overnight!? And just disappeared - not feathers or sign of a fight? That sounds like a theft, not a predator.

Sorry for your loss!

I have had people steal Pheasants, and chickens before...I band mine so when they sent their kids to 4-H with them I got them back...no the pheasants though. :( Sorry for your loss! I get attached to all my animals even my stinky birds! Lol

Yeah it stinks. They were all my babies, even if they were just chickens lol. They would follow me around EVERYWHERE and loved attention. I hope they're okay. No one around here has Russian Orloffs and if I see my crooked beaked one, I will probably lose it and get in a lot of trouble lol. There are people around here that have stolen chickens in the past and used them to train other animals, and used them to fight... I'm tempted to ride over to some of their houses and check, there were a couple that were up here the day before too. And someone was up there that morning while no one was around (my other uncle was home but was watching tv and heard someone pull in then leave). Kinda weird that a few mins after they left my horse had been let out of the pasture and was in my uncles yard. I didn't even think to check if anything was missing from the barn, I'm going to now.

So sorry. I understand wanting to ...you know. Hope local law enforcement is able to find & bring them to justice. Wow. Isn't it a severe offense to steal an endangered species?
