Hopefully I don't sound too stupid asking these questions so here it goes! I have never shown a rabbit or any animal before but from looking at breed pictures, I realized that my rabbit looks just like the breed standard (despite being a rescue) in order to show him does he have to be registered with the ARBA before I can show him? There is an open rabbit show near me in september and I was interested in taking him to see if we get somewhere. What all has to be done first?? Thanks for reading! |

No, your bunny doesn't have to be registered or anything. Look up the standard for the breed of rabbit and make sure he doesn't have any DQs (like improper teeth, wrong nail color, make sure he's a showable color, ect). Contact the show secretary, give them the information they ask for and he'll be entered. It's not too complicated.

Very important. Like with dogs, you can get DQ'd if they are not. I say can because it's hard (if not impossible) to tell when a doe has been spayed. |

The rabbit needs to be tattooed in the left ear in order to be shown aswell. |

If needing a tattoo and not having the equipment to provide one, you more than likely can find someone at the show that will do it for you. There may or may not be a small fee involved. |
