It is very enlarged / zoomed in so I could show the eye color. |

Yea, the last litter had 2 with funky eye colors. I was looking back at their's & their buck's pics when I realized the Frosty was really close to the same shade as their buck that is an Opal. I was kicking myself a bit because I let her go & she was the only dilute produce here. If this kits color is dilute it will be great because it is not related to my other bloodline that carries dilute. |

Eyes have been open 13 days, while not as blue they have kept a gray tent. My son says they are dilute like our Opal's. This would be an unexpected result as the buck & doe's parents have not produced a dilute, but we were only able to get one litter from the buck. Kit ![]() Opal

, Sidd, you were right about eye color. They started turning a gold & then brown within this week. 3 1/2 months old for eye color to develop. Is that common? The eye shades and Wide band gene are the genetic areas I still don't really understand.

I'm not sure if it's common.. if I have babies with light eyes they usually become normal by around 8 weeks. Recently I had a sable point baby with eyes that were nearly blue.. the new owner said that they appear to still be the same. I wonder if his will turn out normal too.. |

Is it possible your sable point was a blue point? |

That's what I thought too, but both of Tu's (the mom) parents had been bred to dilutes many times without giving any dilute babies.. and Tu was bred to a dilute carrier once as well. So I really don't think so. |
