Ok I've been raising Rex rabbits for a couple of years I've never taken a rabbit to a show before or even been to a show before but just yesterday I got to go to a fair and they had a big section of rabbits that were there for shows and it got me wondering about showing , like what is required to enter a rabbit in a show ? What do judges look for in rabbits ? Do rabbits have to be registered with arba ? Thanks in advance Phil

They don't need to be registered or even pedigreed. They just need to be tattooed, entered in the right class, be free of any DQs, ect. For what judges look for, you'll have to do some research on your breed. You can also ask other breeders what they think of your rabbits.

Is it at all possible for you to go to a show before you actually begin showing? It may calm your nerves (it can be overwhelming), and you can start talking to breeders and get a hands on experience of what your breed is supposed to look like, as well as watch a judging, and get a feel of the process without worrying about when to put your rabbit up.

Most breeders are really welcoming to new comers, but don't be put off if you run into someone who isn't very open right of the bat. Some breeders are really busy on those days, so just move onto the next person. Don't be afraid to ask questions, even e-mail a breeder if you need to. I say this because I'm not certain that there is a Rex breeder on this forum, but I think there is.

Try to google your breeds Standard of Perfection and breeds ARBA National winners, state winners, ect in Images (on a google search). This can give you a better idea what to use to determine which rabbits you show.
