I have a new 8 month lionhead buck that i think has been bred once before. I wanted to breed him with my lionhead doe which will be her first time. And so I did, but he didn't fall over and I don't know if its him, or her. She didn't run from him, once she tried to mount him, but most of the time she sorta flatened herself out on the floor with her tail up. He got the idea, he bred with her but never fell over. Someone said wait 12 to 24 hours and breed them again if he didnt fall over. so i'll try that. what else could i do though i have really been looking forward to this pairing, but this is the first buck i have ever had trouble with so what should i do? |

Don't get discouraged just yet. I have a proven who never falls off. Most do but not all of them. If she was lifting and he was mounting then there is a good chance he got the job done. |

well sometimes if they don't breed i leave my doe's with the bucks for 2 days that always gets the job done with my stubern doe's. My doe's don't fight with the buck's so that is the way my successfull breeding goe's. I usually just put them with the buck for a few minutes and they would breed the doe's but some of my doe's are stubern so I found this teckneek i leave the doe's in with the buck for 2 nights that usually gets the job done.

If they aren't successful the first time, I put ACV in both of the their water and try again in a few hours. Then again, and again, and again until it works.

@Jodi I put her back in today and he fell over. yay! finally. but after that breeding she flipped out and was trying to get away from him with her tail down which is how some of my does act when they're already been bred so maybe he did get the job done yesterday. @flemishgiantbreeder I have thought of that technique but some of my does will get aggressive after a certain number of breedings. i always try to keep a careful eye on them. @sidd-says-gimme I never would have thought of that! |
