I have a lion head doe. She has ruby eyes with a purple cast. She has a small point on her nose that is the chinchilla coloration with a white dot in the center of the point. She has no color at all on her feet. She has just recently (due to winter) developed coloration on her ears. I would say it looks "marbled" with the chinchilla coloring. We got her from a pet store and we have no idea what her parents looked like. She has had one litter. All the kits but one were black, and broken black. One baby was possibly blue or lilac but was stillborn. All that seems to match is broken HIMI and the color is just hidden because she is REW? I am no pro. I would love to hear some opinions here. I find this mystery interesting. |

Ruby eyes with a purple cast could be the result of a BEWxREW cross (I know someone who tried this). I could be a trait passed down, but not too many would mess with that trait for obvious reasons; it's not showable, and probably never will be (unless people get really bored and want purple eyed rabbits: PEWs lol) I don't think broken Himi exists. She can only being one or the other, REW or Himi, and as far as I know Himi only comes in 4 colors; blue, black, chocolate, and lilac. She could be a Himi with poor coloring, I've seen it happen. Post a picture, and we can determine it better. Either that, or a charlie as mentioned above. |

I will post a pic as soon as I can tomorrow. I wanted to see if anyone was interested in this first. I wondered about the charlie thing because of the white dot in the center of the dark point on her nose. So for lion head it's just pointed then I guess not Himi? I thought she was REW when I got her because her points hadn't shown up yet and her eyes were reddish purple. I love her eyes btw. I have never seen any points on any other bunny that match the color. Chinchilla was closest I could come up with. Also she doesn't look much like a lion head. Her kits had amazing manes though. She has a strange personality to match her looks. She likes to sit on my shoulder like a parrot. It's the only way she likes to be held really. |

there are broken himis but its a serious NO-NO to breed himi to broken - at least in NDs since all other accepted colors are showable in broken EXCEPT himi I have a himi buck who could pass as REW in summer cause his point color almost completely disappears |

Ok, now I am frustrated. I haven't the slightest clue of how to transfer my webcam pics to this thread. I guess I will have to get the computer person of the house to do it for me. |

I think she's a poorly coloured broken himi VM (white mark in middle of nose point colour). Nothing great to breed. |

I sure wish I knew how to get a picture here. I tried imgur but it didn't work. What pairing could have created my rabbit I wonder? A broken bred to a Himi? Maybe one had blue eyes? |

my guess is VM pointed white. dont breed her - she will do nothing but create offspring carrying genetic problems (color) you may get some OK colored kits but they will be hiding genetics that will cause problems in anyones breeding program |
