POWITH!!

So last night I went to bed thinking that Cake was probably not pregnant. I woke up this morning to the sound of her loudly digging and ripping stuff in her nest box. I walked in the room and she had a huge mouthful of grass again and was bobbing her head. Her nest was remade and she is still in there nesting and hopping in hyper mode. So once again I am thinking now she is pregnant. Never heard of a false pregnancy like this. Just thought I would share. I guess I should know soon.

Interesting. If you hold your hand on her belly for a while can you feel them moving around?

I have felt her belly and honestly I feel nothing. She started pulling fur today too. On day 28 she just made the nest with no fur. She has been cleaning herself a lot too. Every time she reaches down there I almost expect to see a baby but then she sits back up and no kit. She is still eating and drinking. She is not acting like she is in any pain. No visible contractions. Her new nest is even larger than the previous. I just don't know what to think.

I had the exact same issue wit a tiny red ND except she gave birth to 4 youngsters and now has to nurse 7! It's crazy. I have no idea how this happened as the buck was taken out two weeks before her first litter.

I've just been told that it's possible for rabbits to litter again in a very short time period because they have two horns to the uterus which can hold embryos at different ages.....I know kangaroos do this. Anyone have any thoughts please?

People seem to be pretty torn on that one. Some say no way, some say it has happened to them. I have heard that normally if that happens, she will usually abort the younger litter while birthing the older ones.

Interesting. Is someone writing a book with all the information dotted about in this place?
