I'm having a problem breeding a doe I have. She is holding still for the buck to mount, but she's not lifting her tail. Is there a way to hold her so that her tail/butt end is in position? The doe is a 11 month old French lop mix(?). This will be her 1st litter. The buck is an experienced small standard Rex. He is about half the size of the doe. And both are magpie. Thanks. |

If you look in my new posted thread, there is a video where i tried lifting the doe with 1 hand, it didn't go well on footage because my other hand was occupied by the camera. Without the camera i helped them with both hand and she took 4 times. The buck is very bad at breeding and the doe didn't really care, she didn't lift or run. I can't really explain in proper english what you'll need to do, i just place one hand under her bottom and lift it up a bit and i try to pull the tail out of the way. It all about raising that tail so her female parts get exposed and reachable for the male. If the tail stays low it will be in the way and he will never succeed, just a waste of his energy.
