I'm at a loss as the the color of these babies. I think I have a tort marten, an orange, a chocolate marten or chocolatechestnut (I think I see ticking comming in) and a lilac marten or pearl marten or a lilac peral marten ???? lol

Wow, this is quite the rainbow from that pairing! :O

I agree on tort marten and orange. Choco chestnut/marten. The last one is funky looking. I do see tan markings.. and from the looks of it he looks shaded?? Not sure if that's possible but it does look a little weird and is some sort of dilute.. not sure. Would like to see them in the future just to figure it out, very interesting.

Pretty litter!

I think the light one may be lilac-base -- lynx or lilac otter.

More pictures as they get bigger please!

Thanks. Here is an updated picture. I took it 2 days ago and eyes opened yesterday. The chocolate chestnut quit growing after the last picture and died a few days later ;( I was so sad. I know it's not showable but I like the color. lol

that light one looks squirrel (blue chin)!

sorry you lost the little one - but be sure to keep him noted in your breeding records as he clearly shows that both parents carry chocolate.

If you like the rainbow and don't mind the occasional unshowable color, this would be a very interesting pairing to repeat.

both Ee, Dd, and Bb
one is Aat the other either Aat or Aa
one Cchd the other Cchd or C + something recessive to chd.

I'm still amazed you didn't get any chestnut.

I kind of did with the chocolate chestnut. I know what you mean. I was stunned I didn't get a regular chestnut. Could the one be a lilac chin? I ask because it was light brown in color at first.I guess regardless of blue or lilac its not showanle is it

with a chocolate littermate, lilac chin is certainly possible, though keep in mind the chins always look lighter overall than you expect from the base color.

Which breed? Blue chin (squirrel) is showable in many breeds.

pretty sure squirrel is accepted in the agouti group for Netherlands. Lilac chin would not be. lol -- so call him squirrel!
