How do you treat vent disease? I got a doe from one of the top HL breeders about 2 days ago along with 6 other animals from them and today, I flipped over the doe and her vent was swollen with scabs. I believe she is about 3.5 lbs.

So sorry to hear about your doe. I have been fortunate not to have any vent disease here. Read about it though, and Penicillin G can cure it. Some say Neosporin, but I don't think that would actually cure it, but just hide the symptoms.

Sorry, can't tell you the dosage, not a Vet. I'd definitely let the breeder know, well renowned or not. Also watch the others that were with the doe, very contagious I hear. Might want to treat them too possibly?

Hoping for the best. Wouldn't mind an update?

definitely need Penicillin. Can't recall the dosage, hopefully someone else will jump on.

Fortunately it is one that is easily treatable.

Very contagious, but only by contact - not airborne.

What a bummer, but like others said it is treatable. Thankfully! I hope she recovers easily and that the others are well. Would love to see pics sometime! <3 Hollands are my favorite.

I know to use pen g. I'm not sure what the dosage is though. And apparently, 2 of the others have it as well... the breeder claims he had no idea. -_- bad breeder, bad.
