Amazing. Why is there so little acknowledgement of this breed? Is it easier to go Silver Fox than Silver?

There are a lot of people (and judges) that don't like Silvers, just because they are so different from most breeds that they make them uncomfortable. And, to be honest, there are some definite challenges that come with raising them. The movement to preserve rare rabbit breeds has been on the rise in the last several years, thanks to rabbits becoming sponsored by the ALBC, but for one reason or another, people didn't jump on the Silver bandwagon as fast as they have on the one for Silver Foxes, Americans, American Chins, and other breeds. So yes, Silver Foxes are much easier to find than SIlvers (and better known), and are probably a bit easier to raise, and people like their larger size for commercial purposes.
Shame that people feel "uncomfortable" with Silvers. Can see why Silver Fox is popular because people see them as "meat" and they are popular in the commercial sector of rabbitries.

Wishing you all the luck in educating others about Silvers. Look forward to hearing about successful litters once you get things ironed out personally. Understand that too. Good for you stepping back.
