Truly sad day for the Z-Tribe, woke up this morning, making my rounds, and found Tonks gone. She had a major bleed out. We are just sick.

She was absolutely perfect yesterday. Eating, drinking, socializing with her. She was perky. Just don't understand. Tonks was the little of the group of kits, who needed a few extra feeds but rally back. There no injuries, no cuts, just a lot of blood near her butt.

My husband has already removed her body and will bury her next to Jack-Jack. Not going to any necropsy as the line I have will not be bred.

Tonks was just a sweetheart. Going to miss that sweet face that constantly looked out. She just loved to watch us.

Sweet dreams my love. We are just so heartbroken we just didn't see this coming. It is so true, with rabbits, things go down real fast and you don't even see it even if it's right in front of you. She never gave us a clue.

What a Warrior you were. You fought for life from the very beginning. With our help and Luna's we got you to where you were just as energetic as your sisters. You were a sweetheart that loved to snuggle, enjoyed romping around, greeted me every morning, when I left for work and when I came home. Always a nose rub when I went to bed.

So sorry we were blind to what you were going through. You kept it all hidden so well.

Will miss you immensely, my Chocolate Girl. RIP and will always be a part of my heart.

My husband has already cleaned and disinfected her crate. We are planning to bury her in the garden as the garden will be opened completely to the bunny run and will become the Z-Tribes complete bunny run. You will always be with your Tribe, Tonks.

I'm so sorry.. i don't know what to say. A sudden reminder how cruel life can be when all you felt is love and joy, caring for your precious animal. Strange how things can change so quick and unexpectedly.. Hugs!

My heartfelt thanks to all. Truly appreciate your kind words.

Everything has settled down here. It was such a shock to loose Tonks. Teared up quite a bit throughout the day, especially when I came home to see her grave in the garden.

Today, now that shock is gone, can clearly see. Tonks had trouble from the start. Luna knew that, but Luna also cooperated with us to help Tonks. Tonks rallied back, but there was still something internally wrong.

I don't know this for sure, but this is what is coming back to me. Will I do this again? You bet.

This is part of raising rabbits. This is another learning experience. Sometimes you just don't win. But I enjoyed her immensely, and know she enjoyed her life, though so short. That's what comforts me and that's what counts.

Z-Tribe is starting to come around. Hindsight shows us they knew something was different. My husband commented how quiet they all were on Sunday. Not typical of the Z-Tribe at all. We thought because of the change in the weather and them all going through molt. But they all were theirselves last night. The girls a bit skittish, but we had all the girls out and visited and that seemed to help them realize all was well.

Again, thank you for your support. It's truly appreciated.

Thanks Red, truly appreciate your kind words.

Kind of tough as she is my first loss. I had never bred any animal before, so this is all new to me. But she taught me so much. Being the weakest, we were able to learn and actually do the "extra" feedings. I was able to work with her every day to help her learn to trust me, which she did 100%. She turned out to be such a friendly, curious little rabbit. Though I knew rabbits hid their illnesses, I learned how well they do it. And that sometimes "extra" feedings help but don't cure the real problem hidden.

Hope she visits in my dreams, so that I can thank her for all that she gave me. And say I'm sorry because I just didn't know.

Maybe she didn't want you to know! She's part of you now....every time you make a decision it will be based on experiences you created with her....she's in you....
