I've never really been tempted to contact POTW with a request to include something broadcast on radio during the week, until I heard this Friday's afternoon drama on Radio 4 called Bridge...an excellent two-hander from Scotland...it really is a wonderful piece of writing by Donna Franceschild, compellingly brought to life (a slightly bitter pun - considering the subject!) by two Scottish actors directed by Kirsty Williams in Glasgow... I've listened to it to the end twice now...it made me cry each time... Synopsis: A sometimes witty and utterly moving real-time drama. A woman's sitting on a bench when a stranger approaches her and nothing she says will make him leave. Cast: Davy ... Iain Robertson Woman ... Eilidh McCormick Writer ... Donna Franceschild Director ... Kirsty Williams BBC Scotland http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b052m6dm Edited by Mobson, Feb 22 2015, 01:47 PM.
