Thai Kids All Safe

I woke up this morning about 6pm and felt a lot of fear for the two people still down in the cave. For some reason I wasn't expecting the young coach to get out alive. So it was a bit relief when the 7 o'clock news came on and they were safe. Our news said the world was celebrating and I do wonder about the family of the Thai SEAL who drowned while trying to rescue them.

I did hear someone praising the Thai authorities for getting in international help early and not trying to go it alone. I have wondered who is paying for all this, and we decided it would be Thailand. Presumably the government; the families couldn't possibly afford to.

Now it remains to be seen how well they cope afterwards: I imagine they will be quite traumatised and suffer nightmares. Maybe long-lasting effects, such as depression, agoraphobia, claustrophobia. I got to the stage where I didn't want to hear any more about them till they were safe, and my cousin, who obviously suffers even more from claustrophobia than I do, put the newspaper article down and said he couldn't read any more of it till later.
