I spotted a bottle of wine in M & S in Dunfermline and bought it for my brother, who is a Glasgow Rangers (Gers) supporter, because it just says 'Gers' on the label. He loved it, I hope it tastes ok. I got two bottles of champagne from the same M & S, on offer at half price (£15) - 'Abel Charlot'. We are in Scotland for the first third of Mrs R's birthday celebrations. Had a nice lunch at the Garvock House Hotel although, due to a large funeral lunch in one of the other rooms, service was slow and it took ages. However, everything was excellent and you appreciate the north / south divide when the bill comes (£250 for 9 people - I left another £25 in cash as a tip). Stage two will be a September lunch at Thackeray's in T. Wells for another 9 people but it will be a lot more than double the Scottish one. Stage three is Paris at the end of September (just the two of us) bubbl!!! |

Gers... ....I thought they were Mongolian felt tents, like yurts! Does this wine leave one with a furry tongue, I wonder? |

That probably depends on how many bottles you drink. |
