The company that sold the world's most expensive bottle of wine has started an Academy to give people a chance to sample fine wines. It won't unfortunately be possible to taste the 1811 Chateau d'Yquem that sold for £75,000 last month, but buffs will be able to taste vintage wines up £10,000. The Antique Wine Company says the courses at its Marylebone HQ will be 'relaxed and entertaining' but also 'structured and informative'. Teachers include Tim Aitkin, a Master of Wine seen regularly on BBC1's Saturday Kitchen. MD, Stephen Williams says pupils can learn the subtle nuances separating a £100 bottle of wine from a £500 vintage. The first three evening course starts on 21st September and costs £270.... http://www.antique-wine.com/ |
