Not a prize that has huge credibilty, given some previous winners, but Polly deserves some recognition for ploughing her unique musical furrow. |

I had a wee hunch Polly was gonna win but - as gambling is just about the only vice I don't indulge in - I had nothing riding on it. It's the only shortlisted album I own/know; so can't compare it to the others. I got it played on Radcliffe's R2 show; as part of my "My First, My Last, My Everything" selection about six months ago. (Only time I've ever written to a radio show, apart from "JRR".) Can't decide which Harvey album is my favourite; but I think "Rid Of Me" is the one I play most often. |
