I remember Bing Crosby doing 'home on the range'. I imagine the deer would be chopped up and and put in a pan before going on the range. (Do you get many antelope in the US? )

"Maize-y doats and dozy dotes" ("and little lambs eat ivy)"~~ by Milton Drake.
Although I had to look him up.

It's amazing what you learn. Apparently his daughter came home from school singing "Cowzy tweet and sowzy tweet and liddle sharksy doisters." (Sing it out loud to make sense). But seeing cash-registers before his eyes, Milton rewrote the words into something superior.... Or so he thought.
However, Wikipedia goes on: "A success on the home front, it was also a hit with American servicemen overseas, who allegedly used its nonsensical lyrics as passwords."
So we couldn't have won the war without good ol 'Maresy dotes'

Inspired by Hugh's mention of Chick Corea, I thought I'd see if I could make up a wee jazz combo...

Rhythm section:
Ginger Baker (bit of a double whammy there!) on drums; Leroy Vinnegar (real name!) on bass.

Art Pepper on alto sax; Don Cherry on trumpet.

That's the same line-up of four instruments that Ornette Coleman used on his '59 classic, "The Shape Of Jazz To Come".
(Which Don Cherry actually plays on.)
