As you probably know, it was Bowie's 65th birthday yesterday. A quick straw-poll; your three fave tracks. #1. "The Bewlay Brothers" #2. "Alladin Sane" #3. "Always Crashing In The Same Car" Not too likely these days; hasn't he just qualified for his Bus Pass? |

It's very hard ..... spoilt for choice but this brings back memories of a sweet girl called Maureen who looked like Anna McGarrigle, with a big woolly hat pulled down almost over her eyes, jumping around in time to it and pulling funny faces ..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j062oRWQNI4 ... and she was. |

I can't open youtube at work Caissier, I'll check it tonight. My journalist school friend, Frank, once interviewed the McGarrigle sisters when they were on tour in the UK. They actually invited him to lunch and paid, which he couldn't believe. He said they were the nicest and most genuine 'music industry' people he ever met and he's met a few. |

Unless you're Dorian Grey....and Mr Bowie certainly could be a candidate for that character!

Starman in particular brings back (long story) fond memories - and The Bewlay Brothers, and Ashes to Ashes. In fact Bowie tracks seem to me more nostalgic than most. And you cannot overlook China Girl: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzcCVGiP-OE |
